Situated in a beautiful rural location close to the historic town of Newport, this lovely cottage is situated on a 50-acre site that includes an equestrian centre, a family restaurant and bar, two playgrounds and farm animals (part of a local riding school), making for the perfect family getaway with plenty to do for all ages. The nearby beach in Ryde (6 miles away) offers a great family day at the seaside with plenty of shops and no shortage of beachside eateries to choose from. For a family day out why not explore Monkey Haven or Buttlerfly World both just a short walk away (0.2 miles), Osborne House (4 miles) or the Isle of Wight Aqua Park (11 miles) offering something for everyone to enjoy. The lovers of outdoor pursuits will enjoy exploring the many trails on offer in the local area. There’s a wide choice of level purpose-made tracks along former railway lines which connect the island, peaceful byways, challenging off road bridleways.

This is a beautiful holiday cottage located on a purpose-built rural riding school and set within acres of stunning island countryside. Approaching the property, you’ll come through a striking archway and into a quaint, communal courtyard where you will find this lovely cottage. Entering the property, you’ll find yourself in a small reception hall leading to the spacious lounge/kitchen/diner. Featuring a well-equipped kitchen and a dining table, this open-plan, airy room provides the perfect social space, ideal for planning the day ahead over your morning coffee or debriefing the day over dinner. The lounge offers ample comfortable seating and a Smart TV, it’s a great place to gather and watch a family film after a long day out exploring. Completing the ground floor is the downstairs shower room and WC by the entrance to the cottage. Heading upstairs you’ll find the master king-size bedroom with neutral and calm décor making this the ideal room to rest and unwind. You’ll also find a twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom. The main family bathroom completes this lovely holiday home.

Finally, French doors through the lounge lead you to the private south facing garden area with outdoor furniture and BBQ, ideal for alfresco dining in the sunshine and out the front of the property there is a communal garden with seating. With an ‘eco-friendly’ ethos, the site itself boasts solar water heating and rainwater harvesting.

Great location but the whole place needs a facelift. Overall NOT 4 star.

Top marks for spotlessly clean throughout and very comfy beds, and our kids loved the playground and animals on site. The owners advised there is a mosquito problem but the property is incredibly hot: consider providing fans in all rooms. There also wasnt a hairdryer provided which was a surprise. Travelling with a dog it was a shame there werent aRead moreny walks on foot we could do beyond the property (which was off a very busy road), but it is a good location to get to many tourist spots by car Hide

Good location and a comfortable cottage. Good play area for children The family restaurant is good when open. Breakfast only at weekends (after 10am). Dinner Wednesday-Saturday. Also do not rely on the car charger being available.
