This gorgeous period cottage is set in a converted dairy barn on a wonderful horse riding farm, surrounded by countryside. As the farm is set down from the road, you can really immerse yourself in this rural escape. Why not take a stroll to visit the pigs and sheep or spend the afternoon horse riding with the on-site professionals? Or perhaps visit the on-site restaurant whilst the kids let off some steam in the children’s play park which is in view. For a family fun day, you’ve got Butterfly World and Monkey Haven within 0.5 miles and looking further afield, Tapnell Farm and Blackgang Chine are not to be missed (both within 11 miles). For the outdoor lovers, don’t miss the island’s many walking and cycling trails, offering stunning panoramic views of the coast and countryside – perfect for your four-legged friends.

This is a beautiful mews-style house in a converted Victorian dairy barn, set on a purpose-built rural farm and within acres of countryside. As you approach the property, you’ll come through a striking archway and into a quaint courtyard where you will find this lovely holiday cottage. Entering the property, you’ll find yourself in a small reception hall leading to the lounge/diner. Offering ample comfortable seating and a Smart TV, it’s the ideal spot to get cosy and watch a family film after a long day out exploring all that the island has to offer. The kitchen is well-equipped and enjoys views across the garden. The final room on this floor is the downstairs WC by the entrance to the cottage. Moving upstairs, you’ll find a king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can made into a 2’6” twin upon request) and overlooks the garden. This bedroom also features an en-suite bathroom. Moving through this floor there’s a 2’6” twin zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a king-size upon request) with an en-suite shower room.

Finally, as you head back downstairs and out the back of the property, you’ll find the private, enclosed garden offering outdoor dining furniture, ideal for alfresco dining in the sunshine. Out the front of the property, there is a communal garden with seating and a separate exercise area for the dogs on site where you can let your four-pawed friends run off some steam. With an ‘eco-friendly’ ethos, the site itself boasts solar water heating, rainwater harvesting and a bacteria based wastewater treatment facility.

Lovely decor, everything as pictured. Great location. Nearest pub was closed during our stay but everywhere we went was no more than 25min drive. Riding instructor Emily was brilliant. Horses/ponies lovely. The property was very warm but upgrades are needed in the bathrooms & basic things like cutlery/kettle. Both showers have a high step up, so miRead moreght not suit older guests. Enclosed garden was great and amazing size if using it in the warmer months. Hide

A lovely cottage in great central location for the island. Very friendly and warm welcome from the owners - nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was exactly as described on the website, and great to have a restaurant on site - especially for the first night. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. Thank you!
