This converted stone barn, set on 600 acres of farmland, is a fantastic base for families and groups wishing to explore the Welsh mountains. The local village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog has a couple of local pubs offering a great place to relax and refuel after a day of walking. Located within the Berwyn Mountain range, there are walks right from the doorstep with a diverse array of flora, fauna and wildlife to be seen. The dramatic waterfall of Pistyll Rhaeadr (9 miles) is certainly worth a visit during a stay in this hidden gem, and the town of Llangollen (15 miles) makes a great day trip for history lovers.
The living/dining space is full of charm, retaining many of its original features, such as double-height ceilings and oak beams. A two and three-seater sofa, TV, DVD player and wood burner make a cosy setting for evening relaxation, whilst the dining table set for six is great for gathering together for a meal. The kitchen leads directly out to the terrace and has ample space to prepare meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The first of the bedrooms is a luxurious king-size four-poster bed, with a large, bright window to make the most of the views. The second bedroom is another king-size, which can be made up as a twin on request, and enjoys a beautiful arched window, as well as direct access to the front patio. A further two single bedrooms are great spaces for kids, with wardrobes, side tables, dressing tables and doors leading out to the rear patio. There is both a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a walk-in shower room for easy access.
Outside, there is an elevated rear patio looking over the river and out towards the mountains. Equipped with a hot tub, garden furniture and a BBQ, the patio is a fantastic place to relax during the warmer months, making the most of the picturesque view. A separate shared play area is also available on-site featuring swings and a slide.
