This lovingly refurbished showman’s carriage presents quirky accommodation in a stunning countryside setting, perfect for celebrating a special occasion with a loved one or a romantic getaway for two.

Located in the heart of the East Sussex countryside with beautiful rural views, this holiday let is also within easy reach of the local pub. The carriage enjoys a beautiful and timeless view across to historic Bodiam Castle, which is managed by the National Trust and is well-worth a visit. Hop on the nearby Kent and East Sussex railway to explore the surrounding areas and take in more unspoilt views. 5 minutes stroll within the grounds of Quarry Farm, there is also a café and farm shop, "The Hub" offering Wi-Fi, water sports, a beauty salon and many other facilities.

Carriage doors open into a cosy lounge where a feature fireplace houses a woodburner effect gas fire. This is a warm and cosy space in which to unwind after a long stroll in the countryside. There is a dining area with seating for two, and a compact but well-appointed kitchen which contains a gas hob, microwave and fridge, and a pretty window allowing in plenty of natural light. The double bedroom is located at the other end of the carriage through a sliding door and features vintage painted furniture, decorative bed linen and a small TV. From here, step into another cosy living area with comfortable seating and TV and DVD, and far reaching views towards Bodiam through the large feature windows. There is a spacious shower room with shower and WC.

Outside, there is a covered veranda with a bench, comfortable chairs and outside dining table to relax overlooking the orchards.

There are four other similar properties on the same site, The Prince Regent, The Lady Stella, Goldings Lodge and Lady Jane.

We had a lovely time, it was a great location with excellent views lots of Birds and the odd Dear wondering by, the marsh Frog was very vocal and a delightful background noise, the steam train was a short walk away and well worth a trip, so was a visit to the Hub / excellent Pizza, Lots of national Trust places and English Heretage castles to see Read morealtogether a great holiday and yes we will be back. Brilliant Showmans caravan with fantastic views! Everything we needed was provided for. The little touches especially for the dog were lovely. We enjoyed our stay despite initial problems with heating & plumbing. Difficult to contact owner as phone signal poor, but he came out to fix issues & was friendly. There was a promise of a gift, locally made cider, thats no longer available, but still mentioned in welcome info. Great location for seeing parts of Kent and East Sussex . Could not better for those who love walking. Dogs love it as it situated by open fields and staying in a Showmans Van is different. Great fun.

The Sir Paul Gooderham was very quirky but very comfortable located in a quite location with a great view over the Rother valley in East Sussex , with a great view of Bodium castle which was was in walking distance. The whole idea was brilliant and the it was very cosy and comfortable. Excellent accommodation, cosy and comfortable. The relaxed atmosphere is helped by being able to sit out on the veranda. The property is In a great location with lots of walks nearby, our 2 dogs had a wonderful time exploring the forests and swimming in the sea at Camber Sands. One downside there is no cooker in the property, theres a hob and microRead morewave but if you want to cook pizza or flatbread you cant! Hide

A charming and comfortable place to stay. Everything had been kept in keeping with the Showman's carriage style right down to crockery and decor. Excellent facilities , shower was amazing! On site cafe The Hub was great.

The positive - location, good hot water, bathroom, towels, outside sitting area - however the kitchen facilities are minimal, short of sharp knives, 1 tea towel, poor instructions for heating (on a torn scrap of paper), bed very firm, and only one pillow, no blankets. The worse thing was that no one came as we were informed they would, and no one rRead moreesponded to phone messages and texts when heating wouldn't work, eventually got hold of a man who was churlish and advised to keep heating turned up! Lovely stay! The cabin has been really nice done, it feels like stepping back in time. The view from the patio was picturesque - over the orchard and down to Bodiam castle. Booked for 3 nights, accommodation beautiful and unusual. Lovely views over orchards and Bodiam Castle. Ideal for dog lovers, plentiful walks on the farm and nearby footpaths. I hope to return when the weather might be better!

Cleanliness and location couldn't be faulted. John the site manager was very helpful. Unfortunately, there were issues with the gas boiler over our stay which meant the hot water kept cutting off. It was fully booked so had no other choice of accommodation, but we got by with boiling a kettle to wash when the shower was cold. That aside, the Sir PaRead moreul was lovely and quirky, if a little more rustic than we were expecting! John gave us some bottles of his cider to take home for the inconvenience. Hide
