Situated next to the owner’s home, offering complete privacy is this charming pet-friendly cottage which boasts lots of original character alongside comfortable furnishings for a home from home escape.

Situated outside the village of Ashford-In-the-Water, in the peace and quiet of the rolling Peak District countryside. Bring your walking boots, as there is a, virtually private, public footpath from which a myriad of countryside walks await; the cottage provides easy access to explore beautiful surrounding scenery, for example, Monsal Head & Trail. Ashford-in-the-Water is a picture-postcard, popular Derbyshire village, offering two country pubs and a village shop. Indulge in the restful surroundings and take a picnic along the banks of the River Wye, by the Sheepwash Bridge. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are just a short drive away. Alternatively, meander through the shops and cafes of Bakewell, home to a weekly Monday market and the renowned Bakewell Pudding. Its twin, spa-town, Buxton, is only 20 minutes away and offers a lively arts scene, including the opera house.

Step into the cottage, via the kitchen, which offers everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal, including an electric oven and hob, fridge and dishwasher. Come together around the dining table, and plan the day’s activities ahead, over a long and lazy breakfast. There is a handy downstairs shower room, with a shower and WC. Also, there is ample space for storing coats and shoes. After a day’s hiking the hills, put your feet up on the corner sofa in the lounge, light the cosy wood-burner and wind down, whilst watching something on the TV. Head upstairs to find two bedrooms. A double bedroom, with lovely views from the bed, has an en-suite bathroom, with shower over bath and WC. A little further along the hall is where you will find the twin bedroom. Take your time to enjoy a lie-in with a cup of tea.

Outside relax in the enclosed garden with bench seating and BBQ. Surrounded by mature planting providing a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the summer sun. There is off-road parking for 2 cars.

We had a lovely stay here. It is so well located for walks and cycles. We did not bring our bikes, but it is so close to the Monsal trail that we will have to make sure we bring it next time. There are walks going all directions that you can do right from the house without having to use a car. Bakewell is a short drive for food etc. There is a loveRead morely little pub (The Packhorse Inn) just 10 mins walk away, as well as those at Monsal head. The house itself was clean and well equipped. Hide
