Situated near the village of Forton, just a few miles from the Forest of Bowland, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this newly converted barn is the perfect place for a family getaway. Enjoy walks down the canal from the doorstep to Forton with its amenities including a fantastic fish and chip shop, a mix of other independent shops and cafés, Around half an hour’s drive away you will find the famous seaside resort of Blackpool, home to the Blackpool Tower, The Opera House and the world-famous Pleasure Beach and Illuminations. Other nearby attractions include the more tranquil town of Lytham St Annes, the Royal Lytham golf course and the outlet shopping village which makes for a fantastic day out shopping.

Enter the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and let the stunning vista from outside shine through. In this impressive space is everything you need for a relaxing stay together. The kitchen space offers an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher. There is a sleek and stylish dining space offering seating for everyone and perfect for that celebration dinner. Next to this is a comfy corner sofa, Smart TV, and nearby cosy wood burner, a fantastic space to put your feet up after a day of exploring. Heading along the hallway there is a king-size bedroom decorated with stylishly built-in wardrobes surrounding a TV plus en-suite shower room with shower and WC and just further along the hallway is a further spacious king-size bedroom with TV and en-suite shower room and WC. Onto the first floor, there is a sleek bathroom with bath, separate shower, and WC. There are two king-size rooms on each side of the bathroom.

Lovely spacious cottage - just a few mins walk from the canal. Lovely for walking & relaxing - in a working farm - si very interesting. Lots of cows/goats. The property was lovely! We had a great holiday as there is so much in the area for kids to do (though you need a car to get around). We enjoyed a walk on the canal and seeing the animals on the farm too. The propertys sound proofing is not the best which didnt matter to us but in the downstairs bedrooms you hear walking/talking from above. But thiRead mores didnt affect our enjoyment at all. We loved our stay at the Ploughman's Rest, we had a great family Christmas and couldn't have asked for more. All the rooms were clean, comfortable and modern. Spacious property ideal for larger family groups having 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. A fairly isolated location so own transport essential. Good walking along the canal which is very close by.

The photos don't do this holiday cottage justice. It's a lot bigger than the photos suggest. I was worried that it might not be warm enough with the high ceilings and time of year. I shouldn't have worried, we didn't even light the fire. The underfloor heating was a blessing. Well stocked, had everything we needed. Thanks for a lovely mini break.

A nice barn conversion surrounded by farm buildings and sheds on a traditional working farm with animals giving a rustic outlook. A beautiful cottage in peaceful setting. Our dog had fun playing with the goats out front (safely between fence!). Owners were very friendly and accommodating.

We had a wonderful relaxing time at ploughman's rest, with three generations and two dogs coming together. The barn is very comfortable and spacious with lovely beds and was very well equipped. The children loved the goats being right outside and went to see them each morning. You can be on the canal tow path in minutes if you want a walk and it's Read morejust a short drive to Garstang which has three supermarkets and a array of pubs and small shops. Look no further, this cottage is perfect for a large family, whether you have dogs, children, or 2 very elderly ladies. It is so well equipped, comfy beds, downstairs bedrooms, walk in showers and spotlessly clean.

This is a pretty little cottage with a great layout. The hosts are very accommodating without being intrusive. Everything about the cottage was clean and well maintained. There is lots to do in the area and I would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely properties great for a family gathering for a wedding locally. Goats were funny, coming to visit. Quiet, clean well laid out accommodation. I rented this cottage for our family to celebrate Christmas. We had my 99 yr old Grandma with us as well. We had a fabulous time and the space and rooms were very comfortable and set up to a luxurious high standard. Very comfortable and spacious property in a pleasant rural setting, close to a scenic canal. Views from the house of fields, cows, goats, etc. Well-fitted kitchen and up to date accommodation throughout. Landlady was easily contactable and quickly resolved a minor electrical problem we encountered. Directions to the property need updating. Lovely stay. Very well placed to visit both coast, forest of Borland and south lakes district. Great for dog walking, the canal walks are almost direct from the door. Great house for a week away with pals and our furry friends. The latter loved Goat TV! House was spot on - great sized rooms, pretty much everything you could need and so clean. Hosts converted some of the king sized beds into twins for the kids. They loved having their own floor! Fab location for visiting Lancaster, Blackpool and esp Garstang. Had a lovely stay here with family. Used it as a base to visit a number of locations e.g. the Lake District and the seaside. The fact that it is on a working farm was great and our grandson loved watching the goats at the front of the house and seeing the cows in the cow shed from his bedroom. This was perfect for our family requirements with a wide range of ages and needs. The location on the farm is lovely and it was very special for us to witness a calf being born. A quiet lane leads down to the farm and is adjacent to the canal so some very relaxing walks.

Fab house, great space for 8 people. We were 4 couples so bedrooms were great. A little tricky to find but we all got there in the end Would definitely recommend and will defo use this property again.
