Stylish semi-detached barn conversion property, an ideal couple’s getaway, in a quiet countryside location on a working farm, within an easy drive of beaches at Bude and Westward Ho!

This property is one of three barn conversion holiday cottages located on the owner’s farm, which is just one mile from the Devonshire village of Shebbear. There is plenty to see and do within a thirty minute drive of the property, including the traditional harbour town of Bideford, where there is an interesting array of independent shops, and from where it possible to take a boat trip out to the wildlife rich island of Lundy, with its resident seal colony. The privately owned, traffic-free, village of Clovelly is also within a thirty minute drive, as are the sandy beaches of Bude and Westward Ho!

This stylish barn conversion property provides spacious and comfortable accommodation for a couple, with some lovely original features. On the ground floor, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a lovely relaxing space, with two separate seating areas, one in front of the cosy woodburner, and the other offering somewhere to enjoy the TV and DVD. At the opposite end of the room, there is a dining table seating four, and a well equipped kitchen with an oven and hob, American-style fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. A washing machine, tumble dryer, and an ironing board, as well as a range of DVDs, books, games, and wellingtons for guests to borrow can be found in a separate shared laundry room onsite. Stairs lead up to a galleried first floor bedroom, a lovely king-size room with exposed beams, a TV and DVD. An en-suite bathroom offers a roll-top bath, as well as a separate shower cubicle and WC.

Outside, there is a spacious sunny enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and a BBQ, making it a wonderful spot to enjoy alfresco drinks or meals during the summer months. Guests are also able to make use of the owner’s 12 acres of woodland, and neighbouring paddock, which make a great space for exercising dogs. There is ample parking provided.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Cottage and location are beautiful! However miles from anywhere closest shop is 30 mins drive and the roads are really bad. No interaction from the owners or manager, and too many signs on cheap laminated paper stuck in as many places possible made it feel much cheaper. If you want peace & quiet but with everything you could need within 1/2 drive this property was fabulous! Top spec accommodation, eggs, milk, biscuits & dog treats on arrival. They have their own woodland walk which although was muddy due to weather (we went prepared) was a great find. Would definitely like to visit again!

The cottage was absolutely beautiful,a short drive to many places of interest, the only downside to the area were the true country roads that were not built up but full of potholes, being in a low car this was not ideal. The Hideaway Barn is a beautiful holiday spot, especially for dog owners thanks to the 12-acre woodland and its proximity to several nice walking spots.
