One of three barn conversion properties on this 170 acre working farm, just a few miles from the Devonshire market town of Holsworthy and the Cornish seaside resort of Bude.

This property enjoys a quiet countryside location, close to the Devon/Cornwall border, within easy access of some of Cornwall’s finest seaside locations, including the sandy beaches of Bude, the quiet coastal village of Crackington Haven, and the attractive fishing port of Boscastle. Back over the border into Devon, the traditional town of Holsworthy is just five miles from the property, and offers a taste of authentic Devonshire rural life, with its weekly pannier market, cattle market, and a range of shops, pubs, and tearooms. For those who enjoy exploring the local countryside, there are plenty of opportunities for scenic walks locally, not least on nearby Dartmoor.

This property makes a wonderful location for a couple’s break, and offers a one bedroomed accommodation in a delightfully converted barn, located close to the main farm house. On entering the property, guests are able to hang their coats in the handy storage cupboard, situated in the hallway which leads through to the main living area. This space comprises a spacious split level, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with the lounge/diner being located on the lower level, and offering sofa seating, a dining table for two, a TV/DVD, and a cosy woodburner effect electric fire. A door leads from here out to the patio. Five wooden steps lead from this area to the farmhouse style kitchen, which overlooks the rest of the room. Here guests will find everything they need, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The property’s bedroom is a comfortable king-size room with exposed beams, and a wall-mounted TV. The bathroom offers a shower over bath and WC.

Doors leading from the lounge area bring guests to the property’s private patio, with its BBQ and picnic style bench providing an ideal space to enjoy the quiet surroundings over a drink in the evenings. This area leads onto a shared lawn area, where guests may like to try their hand at a round of croquet using the provided equipment, which can be found in the shared games barn. This space also contains a range of enjoyable games, including a table tennis table and darts board. There is ample parking available on the farm.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

  • 1 king-size bedroom

A very comfortable cottage, peaceful and private. A welcoming cream tea, plus bread, eggs and milk etc was waiting for us.

There is no doubt that this is a comfortable, well equipped lovely cottage, in a beautiful location and with the weather we had it was a wonderful holiday. However we felt it needed some TLC. The barn was lovely inside, exactly as it looked on the website. The welcome pack was very thoughtful and much appreciated. The farmhouse has been rented to long term tenants who have 3 chickens and a rooster approximately 50 feet from Bluebell Barn. Unfortunately, the rooster starts crowing at 3 in the morning and does not stop! We were offered toRead more move next door but this would not have made any difference to the noise. The cottage is let down by it's outside area. The patio isn't a pleasant place to unwind as advertised. The wooden table/bench is rotten, there is no garden chairs or BBQ and the grass was about 4 inches long. The house next door isn't the farmhouse but rented to people who have 2 cockerels in their front garden. A lovely cottage with everything you could need for self catering. A car is a necessity but very peaceful location and very dark at night. Perfect for a relaxing time and a good base for the surrounding area.
