The popular seaside town of Ilfracombe is only five miles away from the cottage and has many shops, pubs and restaurants for visitors to discover. Surfers will love the golden sandy beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton, whilst the rugged beauty of Exmoor is a must for hikers. This perfect family cottage is situated on a 20 acre farm and is 1 of 5 holiday properties on the complex and offers a unique holiday experience with so much to see and do off and on site!

The spacious cottage is accessed via the communal courtyard area. On entering you a greeted with a handy entrance hall, perfect for wiping those sandy toes! Also on the ground floor you will find one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and WC, plus three twin bedroom and a family bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Heading upstairs you will find another double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC. The fabulous lounge/kitchen/diner is also located on the first floor. This open plan space is perfect for all the family and is completed with TV, DVD, Freeview, video, Hi-Fi and a cosy wood burner. The kitchen/diner area is big enough to gather all the family around and rustle up your favourite meals with an electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher. There is also a handy washing machine and shared tumble dryer available.

An external staircase leads outside to fully enclosed private garden with patio furniture where the views over fields can be enjoyed. Why not buy a disposable BBQ (can be purchased on site) and spend the evening eating alfresco?

Had a great week in Barn Owl Cottage. With 7 friends holidaying together 5 bedrooms (3 twin, 1 double, 1 king) were good, although mattresses were not the most comfortable. Slightly tired but very clean, the upside down cottage suited us and 4 small dogs, although occasionally on the cool side. Big steps on smooth wooden staircase - so gate at top Read morewas good for dog safety. We cooked most days and found kitchen well equipped. Parking for our 4 cars was always possible. A short drive to shops etc. Hide

Overpriced property which lacked homely touches. Good amount of kitchen equipment and comfortable beds but overall impressive was a slightly dark and not over warm cottage. The upside living would not suit everyone.

Perfect accommodation for what we needed to meet up with family and friends, plenty of pots and pans to cook plenty of food for everyone. Clean and tidy, recommendations in the file of places to go and to eat out. Allows dogs and had ample space for them in the cottages, gardens and even fields to walk them. A lovely cottage for 8 adults, 2 children, a newborn and 4 dogs! Great location for the beach and moors and a lovely welcome with milk and biscuits there which was great after a long drive. It is open plan with a fab log burner for those colder nights - great entrance for all those muddy boots and dogs too. Barn Owl Cottage was an ideal place to stay with our extended family and dogs for a family celebration. The games room was great for the older grandchildren and our youngest grandchild enjoyed the "meet the animals" with Jay. The kitchen is well equipped and we could cook for ten with ease. There are many places to visit locally (e.g. beaches, zoo Read moretrain) and it was also a good setting to relax and put our feet up. The enclosed garden and walking field were certainly an asset for the dogs. Hide
