This peaceful hideaway is well equipped and very comfortable, located well for forrest walks, sitting watching the wild life, going to local attractions including National Trust places. Disappointing stay compared to our last visit. Basics were missing or not working properly and there was inadequate follow up. Worst thing was loud music on site until 4.30am on New Years night; I had to personally go and complain about the noise and ask for it to be turned down. As paying guests, we did not feel we were a priority. Left 2 days earRead morely. Hide

Our stay was comfortable and quiet and we really enjoyed the cosy feeling, especially having a fire each evening, as well as the well equipped kitchen for cooking in which we did every day. It was easy to get to the sites we wanted to visit, like Nottingham, a local canal walk, and Hardwick Hall, or stay in and take a local walk. Really loved the oRead morensite Tea Room and took advantage of Bakehouse orders too! Hide

We visited with our 2 grandchildren and had a wonderful time. It would be very difficult to find better hosts, and the property is clean, quiet and comfortable. Add to this the fact that it's dog-friendly, and it becomes difficult to beat!

The cottage is delightful and the surroundings too. Staying there enables us to catch up with family and friends. We shall be back.
