This cottage has been newly built to the design of the 17th century farmhouse mixing traditional features with modern comforts. The property is situated on a working farm, with livestock such as chickens, sheep and a resident peacock, Percy. There are tearooms onsite, Carp fishing pond, Artisan Bakery and of course the ruins of the priory. The farm is nestled in a valley and surrounded by green fields and hundreds of acres of woodland. From your door, there are many circular walks and bike rides. If you are a real ale or cider fan visit our micropubs; The Gamekeepers Freehouse on Eastwood high street 5 minutes’ drive and the Poachers Alehouse, in Jacksdale 10 minutes’ drive. We are lucky in the midlands to be surrounded by hundreds of microbreweries and micropubs. Nearby you can visit Newstead Abbey, ancestral home of the poet Lord Byron, Wollaton Hall with its 400 acre deer park and natural history museum and further afield but just 35 minutes away are Chatsworth Estate, the Peak District and Derbyshire in general. Both Nottingham and Derby city centres are a 30 minute drive and accessible by car, tram or bus.

The property comprises of an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge area benefiting from a wood burner to relax in front with a TV and DVD player. The property is well equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer there is also a shared utility room with washing machine. The property offers 2 bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin. The master bedroom as has a TV ad DVD player. There is a separate shower room with shower and WC.

Outside you can enjoy seating directly outside the cottage and watch the comings and goings of farm life or enjoy the extensive grounds of the priory.  There are lockable store for bikes and fishing equipment.

Brilliant stay again, cottage was clean and well presented. The location is stunning on the edge of the woods with amazing views. Lovely to visit the tearoom on our stay this time as we were there when it was open - lovely selection of food in a cosy room. Owners very responsive to questions and queries.

We absolutely loved our stay at Abby View Lodge. The location is perfect, plenty of things to explore on site. Walks in the forest, to the pond. We spent 4 nights at the apartment and it was exactly what we needed. We arrived to fresh cream tea, which was a lovely surprise, and a nice clean cottage with comfortable beds. The hosts were friendly and were on hand if we needed anything. Luckily we didn't. The apartment itself is located in a picturesque setting. With all amenities within a 10 Read moreminute drive. Lovely peaceful cottage for a relaxing holiday with a homely feel. Well equipped and clean, with plenty of walks through the woods and surrounding areas. Has an onsite Priory and tearooms as well as being a working farm so it was nice to meet all the animals. Hosts were really friendly, would definitely recommend this cottage.

Clean, comfortable and lovely peaceful, well maintained location and affordable. The adjacent tearoom had lovely cake and there were scones in the cottage on arrival. The accommodation was cleaned and bedding changed after the first week.

Lovely owners and cottage for four. We really appreciated the cream tea on our arrival, a nice touch. Along with the farm animals, the large grass areas for the children to run and play, the amazing artisan bakery and the country style cafe, it is just perfect for a family holiday.
