Situated on a farm that’s been owned and run by the same family since 1954, this location offers the perfect romantic getaway. Nestled in the heart of the Lake District, it sits within a tranquil valley, overlooked by the hulking form of Place Fell, just over 1 mile from Patterdale village with its selection of country pubs. This is a great base for visiting the Northern Lakes and Fells, with fabulous walks and cycle routes to explore from the door. Local walks take in St Sunday Crag, Dove Crag, Brothers Water, Helvellyn, High Street and Lanty’s Tarn (all within 6 miles). Enjoy a trip on one of the steamers from Ullswater Lake which is less than 2 miles away or visit the beautiful Aira Force waterfalls (5 miles). Paddleboard or enjoy wild swimming, pack a picnic for two, or for something a bit different, why not go alpaca walking?
This stunning, well-equipped shepherd’s hut offers a great open-plan space with a comfortable double bed, wall-mounted Smart TV, dining area and French doors looking out over the fells. It features a cute, bijou kitchen area that is kitted out for rustling up a nice breakfast or romantic dinner for two, with a Belfast sink, microwave, two-ring hob and fridge/freezer. There is a shower room and WC off the main living space. The design and layout of this shepherd’s hut has been lovingly thought out, with lots of lovely welcome gifts to enjoy on arrival.
Head outside, and you will find a private seating area at the front of the property with a private hot tub overlooking the fells, which is just the place for reading a good book or enjoying dinner cooked on the BBQ. When the sky gets dark, sit back and relax in front of the fire pit and stargaze.
