Bijou cottage situated on a tranquil 34-acre smallholding in rural Devon, just 5 miles from the market town of Torrington, and within easy reach of the beaches and harbour towns of the Atlantic Coast.

This property enjoys a quiet location, tucked away in the picturesque Devonshire countryside. This makes it a fantastic retreat for those who want to get away from the stresses of daily life, however, it is not completely remote and many of the region’s most popular attractions are within easy reach. The wonderful gardens at RHS Rosemoor are just a short drive away, as is the town of Bideford with its attractive cobbled streets and working harbour. For many, a trip to Devon would be incomplete without a day or two spent at the seaside and the expansive beach at Westward Ho! offers everything from golden sands, swimming, surfing, and stunning sunsets.

This compact cottage offers comfortable accommodation for two and is a great alternative to a hotel room, offering more space and privacy. Entering the property, guests come directly to the kitchen/diner, which has been carefully laid out in order to make the most of the space and provide guests with a good range of facilities. The dining table is the perfect spot for enjoying cosy meals for two, while the kitchen area itself offers an oven, hob, microwave, and fridge with ice compartment. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer available to guests on request, should they need them. The bedroom is a pretty double room, with plenty of storage space, and a TV/DVD which can be enjoyed from the bed, perfect for lazy mornings, or late-night movies. A door from the bedroom leads to the adjacent shower room, with WC.

Outside, there is a patio with seating to the front of the property, and an elevated lawn with more seating and a BBQ to the rear. Guests may also enjoy the 34 acres of the owner’s smallholding. There is ample off-road parking provided.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Fabulous cottage for 2people and 1 dog very clean and comfortable. Our first experience in a holiday cottage, A great base for exploring Devon and Cornwall Very peaceful and quiet, exactly what we were looking for. Tight and twisty lanes all around encouraged us to use the shortest route option on the sat nav which kept us off of all the main roads, very rarely seeing other traffic.

Stockman's Rest is a lovely little cottage, welcoming, has everything you need on holiday. It's very quiet & peaceful, quite a way from main roads so no traffic noise. The lanes and track are a little rough in places but I managed it easily with my elderly little VW Polo! Nice to hear the sheep and birdsong, also the owls at night. The friendly towRead moren of Torrington is about five miles away but there isn't really a pub within walking distance which needs to be considered when booking. Hide
