This quaint cottage is one of three located on a farm, just above the picturesque village of Godshill. Perfectly located for keen walkers and those looking for a relaxing retreat.

Lying at the foot of Appuldurcombe Down within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this delightful cottage is within one of the most picturesque parts of the Isle of Wight. A pleasant stroll from the cottage and through the beech copse leads to the centre of Godshill, renowned for its church and thatched cottages. Here you’ll find a variety of tea shops and restaurants. From the farm courtyard there is access to footpaths and bridleways that lead along the Stenbury Trail to the coast at Ventnor, a resort that enjoys panoramic views across the island towards the Hampshire and Dorset coastline. The sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin are under a twenty minute drive away.

Overlooking an attractive courtyard, this cottage is Grade II listed and has been carefully converted from an old barn to create a lovely holiday bolthole. It’s been furnished in a traditional style throughout, in keeping with its surroundings and history. There’s a large comfortable lounge for relaxing with a TV/DVD, which is perfect for quiet evenings in or rainy days. You can cook up a storm in the bright kitchen, which has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a washing machine. A WC is on the ground floor. Heading upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms boasting gorgeous exposed beams – with one double and one twin, the twin has feature floor to ceiling beams between the beds. There is also a bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC.

Unwind with a drink or good book on the sunny patio overlooking a fountain. Garden furniture is provided. A short walk from the cottage, you’ll find a lawn area that’s perfect for ball games or a family BBQ. Guests have use of a shared laundry room with a tumble dryer, and car parking spaces are available close to the cottage.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

A lovely cottage in a great location, with a pleasant woodland walk down to Godshill and a number of public footpaths leading out in different directions. Nowhere on the island took longer than 30 minutes to get to. The cottage was larger than it looked in the pictures and it was well appointed for a two week stay. It was useful with children havinRead moreg the separate downstairs toilet. Be aware that the ceiling height in the upstairs rooms is limited so may not be suitable for very tall people! Hide
