We had a wonderful stay at Rose Cottage with our one year old. It's a cosy cottage on a farm and we had lots of local country walks, which is what we came for. The village of Mere is a 5 min drive and has a brilliant veg shop, Sprout & Flower, which sells delicious cakes and coffee. It also has plenty of choice for pubs and a supermarket. The cottage is "far from the madding crowd". Situated in beautiful countryside with excellent walks it is a great centre for a holiday with a dog or just a wish for great walking. The cottage itself has everything that you need for a peaceful and relaxing week.

Quite rural but only 8 mins from A303 we visited Weymouth, Wells, Stourhead, and many other locations, pub food locally was good and most accepted dogs. Ideal for a one week break.

It's a lovely, cosy cottage, on a quiet farm. The owners greeted us on arrival, were warm and welcoming and asked if we needed anything extra for the dogs, or anything else to knock on their door. The walk around the back of the farm was a lovely place to take the dogs and our son.

As a centre for exploring and walking it's excellent. The cottage is very comfortable and we were welcomed by the hostess who made every effort to make us feel at home. It has pleasant walks through the owner's fields (with recently planted proper! hedges) and a particularly nice walk across their land to the nearby Woodland Trust's Mackintosh DaviRead moredson woodland. The lake was a delight and we had the good fortune to see a kingfisher catch a fish. Hide

Really nice sized cottage big enough for two couples or a family of four. Well equipped wash room shared with one other cottage, nice patio area shared with one other cottage and plenty of parking. Public footpath to mere about an hour's walk nice pubs and shops there.

Our stay at Rose cottage was delightful. We were met by our host who provided us with wine and snacks as a welcome gift and showed us around the cottage. Its the perfect location to get away from the daily grind with lots of attractions nearby. Thoroughly recommend it.

We visited Rose Cottage with our 2 dogs. The owners let us use their fields to walk our dogs. There is even a pond where our dogs could swim. We were made very welcome by the owners. The cottage is nice and quiet. In the area are very nice places to see and to visit. Beds very comfortable.

It was beautiful, warm & comfortable, better equiped than most places we've stayed & we enjoyed the quiet. We got out & investigated the surrounding areas despite it being Christmas.
