This beautiful Grade II listed country retreat is the perfect place for a large family or group of friends to escape to the country and celebrate any occasion in glorious surroundings.

This magnificent property was once an old hunting lodge, situated in the heart of a working arable farm, ideal for keen walkers as the Staffordshire Way footpath crosses the farm. Close to the village of Abbots Bromley, with pubs, Indian restaurant, café and a village shop and nearby luxury spa Hoar Cross Hall. Just a short drive away is the Market town of Uttoxeter with shops, pubs, a weekly market, golf course and Uttoxeter Racecourse. Shugborough Estate is only a short drive, part of the National Trust with lots to explore. Visit the Potteries, a must-visit destination for lovers of pottery with factory tours, visitor centres, museums and shops. Slightly further afield and for the young at heart, take a day out at Drayton Manor Theme Park or Alton Towers.

On arriving, step through the front door into the large panelled entrance hall, from here you will find the spacious drawing room with comfortable seating to relax on in front of the TV and the inviting open fire. The formal dining room is set for all to sit and enjoy an evening meal with family and friends whilst planning the next days adventures. The large farmhouse kitchen with breakfast table and chairs is fully equipped for the chef of the household to cook up a storm, including an electric Range oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and two dishwashers, so no washing up afterwards. A passageway links to the lounge with sofas (including one sofa bed) arranged around the TV and wood burner. There is also a second kitchen/diner at the back of the house with table and chairs and equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge and dishwasher. In addition there is a utility room housing a washing machine, tumble dryer and a separate WC. There is a ground floor bathroom with bath and WC, along with a boot room, the perfect place to leave those walking boots and wash off any muddy paws. Heading up to the first floor you will find the eight bedrooms, some with beamed ceilings and views out over open countryside. There are three super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into twins on request), one of these has an en-suite shower and WC and another has an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. There is a single bedroom and four king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into 2ft 6 twins on request) bedrooms, two of the bedrooms share a bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC and one of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower and WC. Completing the first floor is a shower room with shower and WC.

Head outside to the large lawned garden and terrace which is perfect for children and dogs to run off some energy while the adults relax on the garden furniture and admire the views. There is a separate games room located just by the property in an out building with impressive snooker table. There is storage for bikes and ample private parking.

Lovely big house on a remote farm. 4 really good sized bedrooms. Smaller rooms are fine for a weekend but minimal storage. Great for our family weekend away.

Great size of property for a belated family Christmas celebration. Comfortable beds and bathrooms and cosy big lounge and big dining table. Although the property is a farmhouse it does need updating as it is quite tired

The accomodation was great throughout. Very comfortable, warm and cosy. Plenty of crockery and cooking utensils Lots of room for our family get together. Added bonus having the barn with snooker table etc. Great rural location. Loved the peace and quiet of the countryside but still near enough to visit the local attractions.

Dear Sir/Madam We recently stayed at Park Lodge, it was our 3rd time over several years. It is a beautiful property in an idyllic setting and as usual we had a wonderful time. A great place to stay for our extended family, 4 birthdays and a wedding anniversary to celebrate while we were there. The bedrooms were all comfortable and the property was well equipped. We had a wonderful family reunion. 4 families all together, there was loads of space to be together or find a quiet spot away from everyone. The main sitting room had a fabulous open fire and comfy sofas, perfect as an adult only retreat! Park Lodge is a wonderful old hunting lodge so there are drafts and cold spots, and not always easy to keep spoRead moretlessly clean. The cleaners do a grand job. The lodge is in the middle of nowhere. It was great! Turkeys came to visit on the lawn every morning. Hide
