Enjoying an elevated location with far reaching views across the surrounding farmland, this single storey architect design barn is perfect for couples wanting to get away for a short stay in the Wye Valley.

Set deep within the open countryside, you are well placed for the picturesque Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and Brecon Beacons National Park, an absolute haven for walkers and cyclists. You can enjoy many fabulous walks right from your doorstep, along with the National Cycling Route (42) which you can pick up close by. The River Wye meanders along the base of the valley, where you’ll also find the peaceful village of Tintern, famed for the ruins of Tintern Abbey. Chepstow is nearby, a bustling town with a good selection of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes, and is steeped in history with a castle that is the oldest surviving post-Roman stone fortification in Britain. The area is also rich in heritage, with many castles including Goodrich, Monmouth, and Raglan Castle. Enjoy the views across the countryside as you approach the farm, the barn is well-positioned within the working yard, finished with a contemporary twist that blends well with its more traditional surroundings.

Step inside where you will be pleasantly surprised with the vaulted ceiling and exposed ironworks. The hallway offers space for boots and coats along with a first glimpse of the open-plan living space. The wide-open space is perfect for relaxing and is cleverly divided - the lounge area offers comfortable seating where you can relax in front of the wood burner and enjoy a movie on the smart TV. The dining area takes centre stage with a contemporary styled kitchen that’s well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and a dishwasher. When the day is done you will find two bedrooms. Although the accommodation is set for two, you can take advantage of both rooms, a double room with an en-suite with a shower and WC, and a twin room with a separate shower and WC.

Heading outside, you can sit and relax at the front of the barn in a walled garden that offers shelter. To the side of the barn, a further patio can be accessed from the main living space. There is off-road parking for one car and storage for bikes.

The cottage was fully equipped for all our holiday needs. It was spotless and very peaceful but Bristol and Gloucester are in easy reach for those who wish to explore the city as well.

Super place to rest and relax with the owners eager to help should the need arise, of the three roads to the property I would recommend via the cot.

The barn conversion was beautifully done. Very modern and very well equipped for our stay, with lovely views over the fields. . Our host was very welcoming, I would recommend this holiday home to anyone who loves walking and/or wants a beautiful quiet location.

The cottage is very well equipped, is very clean comfortable and warm with the underfloor heating, a shame really as we would have loved to have lit the wood burner! The property is set in a very quiet location but not far from Chepstow, Tintern with its abbey. We really enjoyed Monmouth with its array of independent shops. Bristol is only half an Read morehour away and is worth a visit, we did travel around quite a lot as the weather was not very kind us . Hide

Cottage was lovely and well equipped in a beautiful area, but being elderly, and my wife with reduced mobility, we found the very low toilets to be problem.
