This property enjoys a tranquil countryside location close to the edge of Dartmoor National Park, where visitors can enjoy access to miles of stunning walks, cycle rides and pony treks, across the ancient moorland. The nearby town of Tavistock offers a weekly market, as well as an interesting array of shops and eateries, alongside a leisure centre and a theatre. To the south of the property, within a thirty-minute drive, is the city of Plymouth which makes a fantastic place for a day trip, with its historic Hoe, marine aquarium, and art deco seawater pool. For those wanting to visit the seaside, a pretty sheltered sandy bay can be found at Bovisand, twenty miles from the property.  To enjoy all that Devon has to offer, why not jump on the train and explore from Okehampton to Exeter.

This ground-floor apartment is one-of-three holiday properties situated on the owner’s farm. The heart of the property is the lounge/diner, with its unusual rounded walls, exposed beams, woodburner effect electric stove , small dining table, TV with DVD. Patio doors from this room open onto the property’s private patio area. In the kitchen, which looks onto the shared gardens, guests will easily find everything they need to make themselves at home, including an electric oven, hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. The property’s bedroom is a charming double room, which benefits from an en-suite wet room, with shower and WC.

Patio doors from the lounge bring guests out to the private patio area, a lovely space surrounded with plants, with a table and chairs, giving guests a space to enjoy al fresco drinks or meals amongst the farm’s peaceful surroundings. Guests also have access to the shared gardens, which are located just opposite the property.

A lovely cottage in a quiet location with easy access to most major towns in Devon. Jane is a very nice and kind owner- nothing requested was to much trouble for her.

This property is comfortable and in a peaceful, beautiful area. It is an excellent base for Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. It has everything you need and is a short drive from Tavistock. I would highly recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed staying here. It was a lovely setting quite remote in its location but not too far from Tavistock and other attractions. The host was extremely welcoming and friendly and flexible with the checking in time. We would recommend it. The cottage was thoughtfully, cleverly laid out maximising the space available. Plenty of storage/wardrobe space in the bedroom and kitchen well equipped. Parking right next to the property which didn't obstruct our view.

A very well designed apartment, comfortable, well equipped and within easy driving distance of Tavistock, where there are plenty of shops and an indoor market to browse around. With the help of the AA book '40 short walks in Devon' (borrowed from our library) we kept active and enjoyed Dartmoor and its environs. OS maps are helpful in navigating thRead moree narrow roads. Just beautiful, the accommodation was excellent for two people comfortable and airy in a picturesque setting. It was well situated for visiting parts of Devon & Cornwall and two superb national trust places (Cote Hele and Buckland Abbey) within a short distance. Fantastic quiet location, ideal for visiting both north and south coasts. The cottage is well equipped and spacious for one/two people. The host, Jane was very friendly and helpful. I felt very relaxed and refreshed after a week at The Lower Roundhouse. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Really pleased with the cottage, very well equipped, spacious, warm and welcoming. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Nice pub within a short distance by car, can also be easily accessed by foot, an interesting thing occured when asking a local how far to the chip shop, he said your here ( the area is called chip shop)

An absolutely lovely peaceful place to stay. Very relaxed, with good facilities, in a beautiful part of the world, with lots to see & do fairly close by and beautiful views of moorland from the cottage. We've had a lovely holiday and would love to come again & will recommend to others-thank you.
