Surrounding the farm, a network of footpaths provides miles of trails for you to explore as you discover picturesque local villages and glorious rural views. Heading to the coast, you can visit Maryport (4.5 miles), the historic town which dates back to Roman times with it's roman museum and aquarium for rainy days, or head along to the picturesque resort of Allonby (8 miles). Inland, the bustling market town of Cockermouth (3.5 miles) is home to a choice of great places to eat and drink. This is also a great base for exploring the northern reaches of the Lake District, with Bassenthwaite Lake within easy reach (10.5 miles), with local attractions including The Lakes Distillery (12 miles) and Whinlatter Forest Park (11.5 miles).

Situated behind the ancient stone barn, the property is accessed from the parking area via a step up to the garden gate, into the private patio and through the French doors. Susan couldnt have been more pleasant and helpful, her dog and two cats are real characters. The work of the farm is unobtrusive and sitting on the terrace on a lovely evening is wonderfully therapeutic. An excellent stay.

The cottage was very comfortable and an ideal base to be able to visit neighbouring places. It was very quiet and peaceful, and the perfect place to chillax in. The owner was friendly and very helpful, with the welcome gifts well appreciated. Would recommend highly, and will sure to stay again in the future.

We had a lovely stay in this comfortable cottage, in a peaceful setting. It's convenient for accessing the surrounding area, although a car is essential. Sarah was most helpful and friendly, so was her dog! We would highly recommend a stay here.

The property is on a working farm in a quiet but handy location , convenient for the coast, Cockermouth and the Western Lakes. We found it very comfortable and it had plenty of space for the two us and was well equipped. The owner was extremely helpful and like everyone we met round there very friendly.
