Tucked away on the edge of a forest and close to the Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park, this is the ultimate country hideaway. Lose yourself in its wonderful, green surroundings and extensive grounds. The converted barn sits in a smallholding, sharing the space with another cottage (also available to rent to bring total capacity to up 15 guests). With so much outdoor space it’s perfect for older children to roam and adults to explore, making this a great option for both families and groups. Mountain bikers are spoilt for choice here with trails for all abilities at nearby Coed-y-Brenin (1 mile). Walkers can enjoy forest trails and marvel at the lovely panoramas on some of the best walking routes in Wales. Dolgellau is just 7 miles away and is the nearest main town. As well as offering pubs, shops and restaurants, it is also the start of an easy bike route through the stunning estuary down to Barmouth. Beach lovers only have to travel 15 miles from the cottage to enjoy the beach at iconic Barmouth, or 20 miles for the rugged dunes with mountains and a castle as a backdrop at Harlech.
The Barn is on five different levels and has been sympathetically converted into a four bedroom accommodation. On the ground floor there is a kitchen/diner that leads onto a utility area and a double bedroom with a shower room, accessed by 2 steps. From the kitchen, steps lead down to the lower area to an en-suite bathroom and a king size bedroom with a door to the outside. Leading up from the kitchen, there is a large sitting area with comfortable seating. Another flight of stairs leads up to two bunk rooms, sleeping five and a wc and bason completes the accommodation.
With a BBQ and table and chairs on the rear patio, outdoor dining is a lovely way to unwind in the evening and a chance to breathe and enjoy the stunning setting amongst the forest and hills. To the front there is an enclosed area with table and chairs. There is also a bike storage shed. Ample parking.
