This lovely stone cottage, ideal for a family, couples or friends, is set in the heart of the beautiful North Wales countryside, in an elevated and secluded position on the edge of the Clocaenog Forest and with breathtaking views to the Aran, Berwyn and Cadair Idris mountain ranges. It is an ideal base for walking, cycling, riding or fishing, with fishing rights on Upper Dee included and a fishing lake walking distance away. There are historic market towns and villages all around, and nearby places of interest include Ffynnon Sara (Sara’s Well), Dinas Melin-y-Wig (Hillfort) and the Celtic Cross located at the old Church in Derwen, about a mile away. The historic market town of Ruthin, with its cafes, shops, art and craft centre and heritage gaol, is 8 miles away, while the stunning town of Llangollen is 16 miles away, where you will find walks and water sports, a canal offering horse-drawn rides and cruises to the famous Pontcysyllte aqueduct, an ancient Abbey and castle, a heritage railway and waterside cafes and pubs.

Converted with space, light and a convenient layout in mind, this high-quality cottage has beautiful features including vaulted ceilings, oak beams, timber flooring and refurbished Victorian wrought-iron beds – not to mention locally sourced materials, super-insulation and triple glazing. The entrance opens to a high-vaulted reception hallway with an open-tread staircase, leading to a living room with a wood burner – perfect for snuggling up after a day’s walking, riding or cycling. The kitchen/diner is spacious and bright, will all amenities necessary for cooking and eating delicious meals, and also on this floor are a useful WC and a generously sized king-size bedroom. On the first floor you will find two handsome bedrooms with vaulted ceilings, one a king-size with an en-suite bathroom, and the other a twin (king-size on request) with an en-suite shower room.

The cottage is set in its own generous and private lawn garden, which is not directly overlooked and has views towards the Aran mountain range in south Snowdonia. It is located next to a smallholding with sheep, chickens (free-range eggs available), horses, dogs and cats. The garden has a patio with table and chairs for six, a parasol and a charcoal BBQ, while a slate pathway leads to the end of the garden and a second sitting area with a picnic table, again boasting superb views.

What a fabulous property! Everything you could possibly need and more. Amazing views and so peaceful. We did get our fair share of rain but we didn't let it spoil our week away. Fantastic accommodation! A well equipped, spacious cottage in a stunning location. The cottage is extremely well designed and has everything required re- storage space and kitchen equipment/ /entertainment. Cottage views are amazing. Getting to it is tricky along very narrow roads. No pub or shops that you can walk to .but lots to do and see by car.

This was a beautiful accommodation. We had an amazing and restful stay. Everything was a 10/10. Jane was a lovely host who left a home made lemon cake (absolutely DIVINE) and some other goodies. Absolutely fantastic, could not fault the cottage, it was so well equipped and we were so well looked after if we needed anything. Scenery to be scene to be believed, can either relax and enjoy the peacefulness or get out amongst the beauty of what this spot in Wales offers. Local pub nearby and farm shops for fresh goods. when we arrived at the cottage we had a couple of issues but these we soon rectified and our stay was very comfortable. the cottage was very clean, a good array of equipment (maybe an air fryer), beds were all very comfy and bedding clean and crisp. we thought the price we paid was very reasonable and the location very remote which suited us fine wRead moreith stunning views. the clocks had gone back on our first night there so this made it impossible to eat out on a night time as the lanes around the cottage are extremely narrow. Jane made us feel very welcome and the cottage was gorgeous, clean and very spacious. It is very quiet there which suited us well and there's a great day ticket fishery across the road which we really enjoyed. Jane is a lovely polite helpful lady and she was very quick dealing with the requests we made ( some she dealt with in a few minutes !) anRead mored it was nice to know there was always someone available if needed. The views from the garden across the valley are lovely too. I can highly recommend this cottage as a great place to stay. Thanks again Jane, Gary and family Hide
