Property code: OC-80719

Located 6 miles from the village of Kirriemuir, this cottage is set with views of the rolling moors and is the tranquil escape you have been searching for. Kirriemuir is home to Glamis Castle and gardens, a former royal residence and birthplace of Princess Margaret, which is open to the public for tours. The village is also the birthplace of JM Barrie, the author of ‘Peter Pan’, and his home is now owned and exhibited by the National Trust.

The cottage entrance leads right into the large kitchen/diner, which is a bright space made very cosy with the addition of a wood burner. The kitchen contains an electric oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee filter machine and washer/dryer. The dining table is set right beside the window so you can enjoy the views outside whilst seating four people. The kitchen leads through to the lounge, which has been tastefully furnished to provide a homely yet stylish space for relaxing in. There are plenty of board games and books to entertain yourselves during your stay, as well as a Smart TV/DVD. The master double bedroom is located at the front of the cottage and has been furnished with touches of tartan and beautiful canvas prints. The twin bedroom is located at the rear of the property and is the room with the highest ceiling in the whole cottage, giving the feel of a house rather than a small cottage. In between both bedrooms, there is a shower room with shower and WC, conveniently placed for access by both bedrooms.

Outside, the garden is open and made up mainly of grassed area to the rear of the cottage. Parking on gravel driveway for three cars. Please note this property has a private water supply.

A great cosy cottage, was very well equipped. Nicely situated for access to the Cairngorms national park and Glen Shee ski centre. Host provided all the information we could need. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in the Scottish countryside.

Beautiful cottage, perfect location and view! Quiet and Vicki is fantastic before/during. Moved a bed for us. Im an active wheelchair user, we camp etc as an ability indicator. Cant stand. The double bed is very high, space in room good. Single beds slightly lower, space good. Bathroom great but shower wont take a shower chair transfer. If you can Read morestand then sit thats fine. Space elsewhere fab. Kitchen stocked brilliantly! Ramp great. No tight spots. A really perfect 90% accessible stay. Hide

The cottages was a lovely place to stay, the cottage was comfortable and met all our needs. The view was amazing - it really felt like being in the middle of no-where and away from it all while not being too far to drive to anywhere. It was also really close to the Kirriemuir climbing wall which offered a range of routes for all abilities.

This is a lovely cottage located a short distance from the Cairngorms national park. There are lots of routes from the cottage to roam the immediate countryside and the roads are nice and quiet for cycling.

Great stay . Cottage had everything you needed. Had no issues with Wi-Fi worked perfectly. The drive up from Kirriemuir ( 10 /12mins approx )was a delight thanks to the scenery.. Kirriemuir itself has a decent size Co-op and Forfar ( 15/20 mins away) had most of the major Supermarkets . Stay here and you will not be disappointed
