Sleeping 10, this property is perfect for celebrations or big family and friend get togethers. Acres of rolling Devon countryside on your doorstep, a big games barn on site and really easy access to tourist attractions mean you'll never be far from entertainment for the whole family. Located in the heart of mid-Devon and surrounded by acres of stunning countryside, yet just outside the highly popular village of Witheridge, which offers a lovely village shop, a post office and pubs. There are miles of walks to be enjoyed directly from the property, including the path for the 2 Moors Way, which meander through a rural landscape teeming with wildlife. There are an array of market towns and pretty villages to explore in the area including South Molton, Tiverton, Crediton and slightly further afield Exeter. Enjoy days out in the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor perfect for those wishing to walk or cycle this awe-inspiring landscape. Head to the coast to discover the string of sandy beaches on Devon’s north coast, including Saunton, Croyde and Westward Ho! together with a collection of traditional fishing villages.

Tucked away down a private lane lies this wonderful, detached farmhouse, which is situated on a working farm and is bursting with charm and character. The farmhouse is even mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Entering this stunning property, you are immediately greeted by the light and airy hall. From here head into the first lounge which has a wood burner set in an inglenook fireplace and Smart TV this leads through to the second lounge which also boasts a wood burner set in an inglenook fireplace and another Smart TV. In-between both lounges is a stable door that opens into the enclosed garden, in the summer you can open the door to let the outside in. From the second lounge, step into the well-equipped kitchen/diner. The kitchen has everything you might need to cook and entertain with an electric AGA, an electric oven and hob, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There is a large dining table seating 10 where you can spend quality time with your loved ones, or celebrate an occasion with friends. There is a utility room off the hall that houses the washing machine and tumble dryer and a large boot room with additional fridge/freezer and microwave.  Completing the downstairs accommodation is a shower room with a shower and WC. When the day draws to a close head upstairs from the hall and retire to bed in one of the four bedrooms. The master is a beautiful super-king-size with an impressive, vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and views, head up two steps to the ‘Jack and Jill’ en-suite bathroom with bath, handheld shower and WC which can also be accessed from the landing. The second spacious bedroom has a double bed and 3ft bunk beds, perfect as a family room.There are two further king-size bedrooms which both enjoy views over the garden and countryside beyond. There is also a family bathroom with a shower over a bath and WC. Please be aware there is a second staircase with very steep cottage-style stairs with a stairgate at the top and bottom.
 
Venturing outside through the stable door from the two lounges is a slightly uneven cobbled area with outside seating for everyone. You will also find a Green Egg charcoal BBQ, ideal for spending an evening surrounded by friends and family. There is a large enclosed lawned garden with swings, a playhouse and football nets, so you can enjoy some family-friendly competition. There is also a games barn with a skate ramp, ping-pong table, basketball net and garden games and toys, perfect to keep children entertained for hours or relax in the Swedish wood fired hot tub. The property also features ample off-road parking.

An amazing farm house, kitchen was so well equipped,the whole place is spotlessly clean, and a garden/ play shed was great, for children of all ages.

What an amazing place to stay and in such an idyllic setting. So peaceful and relaxing. The house is large and definitely plenty of space for a family of 10. Very well equipped. The hot tub and games room were a definite hit with the grandchildren. In an ideal location for beaches to the north or the south. We can recommend the Mitre pub and its Read moreonly a short walk away. Superb Sunday roasts. Rich and Jess the owners are very friendly and couldnt be more helpful. We had such a wonderful stay at this cottage truly one of the best weve experienced, and we travel quite a lot. We came as a big family group with three kids, grandparents, and our dog, and it worked perfectly for everyone. The cottage was amazing, everything you could possibly need and so much space for 6 adults, 4 kids (2-8yrs) and 2 dogs. We were very lucky to have had a dry sunny weekend in March, we made use of the large garden which the kids loved. Cooking on the Aga was a first! A wood fired hot tub was a first too. Staying at Lower Cannington Cottage for Christmas was wonderful. It was decorated for Christmas more than we expected as we thought there would just be a tree so that was a wonderful surprise. The whole place is fabulous and very spacious. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked an entire Christmas dinner with ease. A beautiful cottage, spacious and well laid out. Very clean and well equipped. We particularly liked the games room, hot tub, garden and piano for our grandchildren- and also table tennis tournaments for the adults! We really enjoyed our stay. Derek, sylvia and family.

Had a great stay. Owners were friendly and would do anything to make your stay more comfortable. Plenty of wood available in the garden for the wood burners or hot tub. The owners provided a bag of charcoal For the BBQ which was great. Overall beautiful big place and would recommend other to stay.

We loved our multi generation holiday in a very comfortable , well equipped and spacious house. The playbarn was a great hit with everyone , epecially on wet days. The children were delighted to see the sheep and alpaca in the adjoining field. Witheridge was an easy walk away and we enjoyed meals in both the two moors cafe and The Mitre pub.

We were a family group of nine, six adults, three young children and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spacious property set in beautiful countryside with wonderful views. The house was perfect for our family gathering of eight adults and two dogs. The house is comfortable, spacious and very well equipped. The garden is a delight, with views over the surrounding fields. The owner was very helpful and responded to our queries very quickly.

We had the most wonderful stay for my mum's 60th birthday. The house was beautifully presented, such a luxury stay, spotless and very comfortable. It was a little winter slice of heaven. Would 100% recommend! The play barn was amazing for my nephews (as well as some young hearted adults!)

We stayed here for a long weekend for my birthday and it was absolutely perfect. The farmhouse is secluded and the views out the windows are stunning. It's such a peaceful place, and somewhere we would like to visit again! This is probably the best equipped accommodation I have ever stayed in. I brought things with me for cooking and I didn't need Read moreto - they had literally everything you could think of! We had an amazing time at the property celebrating a birthday. The owners have made sure there is no shortage of things to do, even in the dark winter months, from the table tennis, to the hot tub, to the big green egg BBQ. Not only this, but you have everything you will need, the house is stacked out with everything. The property is perfect for alRead morel, and is secluded and set in beautiful surroundings. Had a fabulous few days at the cottage, our grandchildren absolutely loved having all the farm animals in close proximity! The cottage is, warm, comfortable and perfect for a family break in the Devon countryside. The hot tub and outside barn are a real bonus. Would definitely recommend.
