The Granary is a delightful detached holiday cottage near Rhayader, located on a traditional organic hill farm with lovely views across the upper Wye valley. Sit out on the south facing deck and garden, relax in the secluded private hot tub and explore wonderful walks on the farm and beyond.

The cottage was once the farm granary and is now well-equipped for a self catering UK holiday; the open plan sitting/dining room has a spacious, well-equipped kitchen area, with oak work surfaces and a ceramic hob. French windows open from the living area onto a south facing balcony and deck area, perfect for lazy summer days. The pretty twin and double rooms upstairs have some exposed timber framing, and there is an attractive shower room. Guests can light the woodburner for cosy evenings in, enjoy playing the games provided in the cottage or use the smart TV for your favourite programmes.

Guests can explore the 200 acre farm and see friendly farm animals, stunning woods and tranquil conservation areas. With over 100 bird boxes, a hide for badger watching, a farm trail and wetlands full of wildlife, a stay in the Granary will provide lots to see and do without getting in the car. Gilfach nature reserve is a 10 minute walk and there are many cycling and walking routes from your accommodation, including the Elan Valley and the Wye Valley walk. We are in a Dark Skies area so on clear nights you will see amazing stars and may see shooting stars and comets.

The indoor games room has table tennis, table football and pool, while younger children will enjoy the slide and 3D maze. There is also an outdoor play area with play equipment.

Outside, the old Farmyard garden has flowers, shrubs and seating. Shared facilities also include a laundry room with washing machines and a dryer.

This is a beautiful location with stunning views. We find it to be an excellent holiday retreat to unwind, relax and switch off from our busy lives. The hot tub makes the holiday for us as well as peace and quite. We love seeing all the ducks and farm animals. The cottage itself is very well presented with everything you need. The walks locallyRead more are amazing too. If you want a day trip, Aberystwyth and Aberaeron are easily to get to and worth a visit. Highly recommend if you want time to relax. Hide
