Enjoying a peaceful location overlooking a mature wood coppice and surrounded by open countryside, this beautifully finished stone barn is the perfect base for exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and Welsh Borders. With acres of woodlands, a lake, paddocks and farm walks to enjoy throughout the year, there is plenty to see and do on foot. The property is set on the doorstep of the Wye Valley and within easy reach of the River Wye from both Symonds Yat (4 miles) and Hoarwithy (6 Miles), where you can hire canoes, or simply enjoy the abundance of wildfire along the Wye Valley Trail. The vibrant market towns of both Monmouth and Ross on Wye are just 5 miles away, offering a range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, both in picturesque settings.

Leave the hustle and bustle of the everyday behind as you approach the barn through open countryside. The lounge area offers comfortable seating that fronts a wood burning stove, a TV for a good film, and from here, guests have access to the dining area where a generously sized table and chairs welcomes guests at supper time. The open plan kitchen has been finished with a contemporary style and offers everything you may need for preparing meals during your stay. Furthermore, there is a utility room that’s a great space for muddy paws and wet coats. The ground floor offers guests the choice of three bedrooms, a double room enjoying a front aspect, with en-suite shower and WC, a double room with French doors opening onto the courtyard, and a twin room to the rear of the barn. There is a family bathroom with handheld shower over bath, bidet, and WC.

A wonderful property, nestled in the woods a proper place you can switch off but youre not that far from civilisation. Situated on the farm there is plenty to see and do, from meeting the lovely hosts to walking the grounds. 100% recommend & dog friendly too which is always a bonus.

This is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed, Its stunning inside and out and had everything we needed and was very comfortable. No complaints but anyone who like me prefers soft pillows they would be wise to take their own , I slept in the bedroom with the en suite so cant speak for the other bedroom pillows.

Really lovely quiet location. Barn was very spacious and well equipped. Great for the kids and dogs. The Wi-Fi was absolutely fine- no issues. Just a note that the living room-dining room and kitchen are all open plan so theres nowhere to put the dogs to stop them going on the furniture. (Dogs are not allowed on furniture or in bedrooms) The utilitRead morey room is not suitable for muddy paws as advertised- its just a cupboard room! We really enjoyed our stay! We all enjoyed the peaceful location and woodland surrounding the barn, which was perfect for taking our dog for a walk and for our older children to play outside. The barn is well equipped. Location-wise a few minutes drive from Symonds Yat which we visited almost every day, as we had great weather. We also swam in the Read moreriver at lower lydbrook, visited Ross on wye and went on the diesel train at Park End which were just a few of the highlights. Overall a great stay! Hide

Very comfortable accommodation, quiet and secluded yet only a short drive from plenty of interesting places to visit. We loved our walks in the woods and the views around the farm, and the grandchildren enjoyed building dens with fallen branches. Great time had by all

Very quiet location but still near attractions and pubs/ restaurants etc. We visited in summer when it was very hot but being in the woods meant the cottage was at a reasonable temoerature. Hot water always available, obviously never needed the heating!
