Property code: OC-95164

This beautifully renovated barn conversion, which blends tasteful modern interiors with the property's original character, sits proudly above the meadows of Dunwood and only 3 miles from the charming market town of Leek. It provides a perfect base for small families, friends and couples who, when they're not exploring the surrounding counties of Staffordshire and Derbyshire, can retreat comfortably to a tranquil space amongst nature with all the contemporary amenities they're used to. Within a couple of miles from the property, you have several country parks to enjoy leisurely walks or for the more adventurous type, you can enter scenic Peak District within 10 miles. National Trust properties of Biddulph Grange Garden (5.5 miles) and Little Moreton Hall (12.5 miles) are nearby, along with Rudyard Lake (2.5 miles), RSPB Coombes Valley (7 miles) and Peak Wildlife Park (9 miles). For adrenaline seekers, Alton Towers is 14 miles away. For those travelling to the area for weddings, there are six venues within a 5-mile radius of the property.

Stepping in through the solid wood front door to this two-storey barn conversion, you’re welcomed by a generous-sized entrance hall with a utility room and separate WC; the perfect space to ditch the dirty attire and get yourself comfortable before entering the main living space. The barn opens to a large modern kitchen that is filled with light thanks to the patio doors and a farmhouse-style dining table that modestly blends the old and new within the property. Cooking up the evening dinner will be an enjoyable experience for everyone; fully equipped with everything you’ll need along with ample space for all the family to get involved. Stack the dishwasher with the dirty dishes whilst you retreat into the living room and settle down for the evening. A quirky wood burner effect electric fire takes centre stage in the stunning exposed brick fireplace, whilst the original oak beam above provides a warmth of traditional character in this charmingly modern space. On those relaxed, Sunday afternoons, open the second set of patio doors to let the outside in while you lounge on the sofa watching your favourite shows on the Smart TV or getting lost in the pages of your latest book. When you're ready to retire for the day, a beautiful, handcrafted oak staircase takes you from the kitchen and upstairs where you'll find two large bedrooms, each with their own en-suite. To your right is the super-king-size room with two Velux windows and a stunning vista of the surrounding meadows. The fresh modern en-suite provides a shower over the bath and a WC. The second bedroom is a beautifully dressed twin bedroom, again with two Velux windows letting in an abundance of light, and a shower room en-suite.

Heading back downstairs in the morning, make use of the pod coffee machine before taking it out onto the patio to enjoy. The sound and sights of wildlife in the distant meadows provide the perfect company to start your day. Come the evening, be sure to dine alfresco BBQ style with outside dining and incredible views. This south-facing garden allows you to watch the sun rise and set, and then relax in between. When the evening draws in, gather around the firepit for cosy late-night conversations and star gazing. For the children of the family, and your furry friends, there is an additional lawn area for them to play, along with a warm outside tap to clean away the mud – this is shared with the neighbouring barn.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 super-king-size (which can be made into a twin on request) and 1 twin
  • 2 en-suite bathrooms – 1 shower over bath and WC and 1 walk-in shower and WC; separate downstairs WC
