Just returned from a really lovely special 70th Celebrations holiday at Shepherds Cottage. The lovely old renovated stone farmhouse, set deep in the heart of the glorious Yorkshire countryside exudes peace and tranquility even though it is a working farm. You can also access many coast and countryside attractions easily from the wealth of informatiRead moreon provided by Jen. The cottage was just perfect for a special get together with ample room for family and friends to spread out, relax and enjoy. Jen and Jamie are brilliant hosts where nothing is too much trouble. The Cottage, is superbly equipped, with lots of added extras for entertaining children and a lovely welcoming baking! Also there's a superb Gluten Free Bakery close by 'Off The Scales' in Castleton, who made a wonderful 70th Birthday Cake. The Cottage also has a lovely contemporary decorated interior and is attached to their main family home. But it's so peaceful. You can regularly hear sheep and lambs on the hillsides. Plus the tapping of the resident woodpecker and watch the owl swooping over the adjacent fields hunting in the evenings as the sun sets over the garden. Perfect. Hide
