The attractive village of Great Ayton lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, at the foot of the Cleveland Hills. Great Ayton is famous for being the boyhood home of Captain Cook. Great Ayton has two village greens, with a river running alongside, making it a popular picnic spot. To the north of the village, the view is dominated by Roseberry Topping, a 330-metre hill. The village offers a good range of shops and inns, which, together with restaurants and cafes. There is also the old school, now converted into the Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum. The coast is just over 12 miles away to Saltburn-By-The-Sea, a Victorian seaside resort including its pier, the colourful Italian Gardens and walks through Riftswood. Saltburn has the oldest water balanced cliff tramway in Britain and it is still in operation today.

The lounge room leads from the dining room and has large windows providing lots of the morning sun through. At its heart is a wood burner, perfect for the chillier months. Sit back on the comfy sofas and put your feet up and watch a film on the Smart TV. Next door is a spacious modern kitchen yet retains character with the imposing stone wall. The kitchen has been equipped with everything you could need to rustle up delicious meals including an electric hob, oven, dishwasher and microwave, whilst the dining area provides the space to enjoy your meals over a well-deserved glass of wine. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful views of the hills and farmland, take a seat on the bench and watch the ducks and geese.
The cottage garden has a lawned area which is great for children and dogs plus a large flagged patio area. Light up a BBQ and dine alfresco on the outdoor furniture whilst admiring the views. There is ample off-street parking provided.
