The stables are as listed. You look over some farm buildings which is fine as you know you are on a farm. The property was a bit dirty under the sink and the sink in the bathroom. The enclosed courtyard was excellent for our dog but unfortunately we couldn't use the lovely grass area as there was a gap in the fence which could be easily remeded.Read more Obviously if you have a dog that won't run off it's no problem. Our dog is reactive so if you take a reactive dog please be aware that there are vehicles coming past your lounge/front door so we just kept the blinds closed and dropped the blinds by the front door too. There is no local pub nearby at all. The walk in the information book says there is a walk to ibberton and a pub but that has closed down. We found sturminster newton about 15 mins away the closest to eat. Our car sat nab couldn't find the property but my phone could. The mattress in the main bedroom was super hard but again that is a personal problem for me. Hide

We loved our stay at The Stables, quiet area and a great location. Lovely walks around the farm for our dog and only 10 minutes drive from local shops and pub. If we were to visit the area again we would stay at Chitcombe farm again.

A comfortable and clean cottage, with all the essentials and more! Some great touches, like the amazing apple cake and a bottle of wine added to what was already a great getaway. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed the great expanse of the garden. An excellent base for exploring Dorset, plus some good local walks too.

We stayed at the barn for six nights and had a lovely stay. Its cosy, clean and well equipped, everything has clearly been thought through to make guests feel comfortable and at home. with a handy boot room which was perfect after muddy walks with our dog. Had a lovely relaxing time over Christmas in this cottage with a few welcome goodies which was a nice touch. It is well equipped all around with a small rear private garden at the back perfect for our dog to stretch his legs. Nice walks on and around the farm to explore as well. Exactly what I needed from a short break. Lovely and quiet country location, plenty of space to relax indoors and outdoors, and central for 30 mins journeys for days out on the coast or otherwise. Lovely welcome pack of Dorset produce. Would definitely stay again.

The house was well laid out and comfortable with a log burner for colder nights. Equipped well and use of a boot room and outside storage was perfect with a dog and bikes. Use of field straight outside the gate was a bonus. Walking straight from the front door without touching a road was exactly what we wanted. Although a working farm it was very qRead moreuiet. Hide

"cottage" itself was very large and well equiped. Only criticism was the TV. Even the owner only knew how to get BBC channels. We and he could not get ITV or Channels 4 or 5. Yes sure all sort of films and advertising channels. Get somebody to write out instructions for other main channels please.

I highly recommend this place. 5 star accommodation and facilities. Excellent for disabled and dogs, with handy mud room. Everything catered for. Safe patio area and lovely grass area too. Working farm so vehicles to be expected. Very pleasant situation. It IS some distance from shop or attractions, but adds to the peace.
