This is a fantastic base for enjoying breath-taking country walks, with the Nidd Gorge nearby, offering extensive flora and fauna in ancient woodland dating back to 1600. Nearby is the delightful town of Pateley Bridge, the principal town in Nidderdale and the perfect place to start your exploration of the area, with plenty of places to eat and numerous quaint local shops and tea rooms. Pateley is also home to Nidderdale Museum and Englands oldest sweet shop. You can also explore the amazing Brimham Rocks or enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Nidderdale Greenway.

This is one of two charming cottages set on a farm in beautiful Nidderdale. On entering this cottage, which has been tastefully converted from an old stone barn, an entrance hall leads you into the bright and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Cosy and comfortable with everything anyone would need. Okay, its a not The Ritz but its perfectly acceptable as is for a stay. This was my second stay at Rose Cottage, in a lovely location and Mrs Hardcastle, the owner, is always welcoming. Looking forward to staying again. Thank you. From Damian and Barney the dog

We were met by the owner when we arrived, heating was on, so cottage was lovely and toasty. An excellent quiet location for visiting nearby towns and villages with lovely views at the back. The free range eggs were excellent Everything we needed for our 3 night stay

Rose cottage was a quiet little retreat on the edge of the village of Darley. Faraway from the maddening crowds.
