There are many miles of leisurely country walks to be enjoyed direct from the property's front door, including the enjoyable walk around Lindley Reservoir which will be of particular interest to wildlife enthusiasts as the area is home to a large number of bird species including goldcrest and woodpeckers. To the north-east of the property, within a 20-minute drive, the spa town of Harrogate is a fantastic place for a day trip, as are the wonderful gardens at RHS Harlow Carr which visitors will pass on the way into the town.

Several stone steps lead up to the front door of this farmland property, opening into the open-plan living space, comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen area itself is equipped with everything that guests will need to make themselves at home including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. As the property is all on one level, doors from the lounge lead through to the bedrooms and the bathroom. Both bedrooms are spacious rooms which have been simply yet elegantly furnished with pine wardrobes and complementing dressers. The master bedroom is a super king-size room which can be made up as a twin on request, whilst the second bedroom is a delightful king-size room which can be made up as a twin on request which looks out over the rear of the property.  The shower room, meanwhile, offers a walk-in shower with a small step up and down and a WC.

Outside, the property enjoys a good-sized rear garden with hot tub, which is mainly set to lawn and offers views over the neighbouring fields which can be enjoyed from the garden furniture provided. There is bike storage available as well as off-road parking for two cars. For those who would like a taster of farm life, the owners are happy to arrange private tours of the state of the art milking parlour.

Love this cottage! We had a great 5 nights here. Beautiful location with stunning views across the Wharf valley. Spacious enough for 4 people and the owners have thought of lots of extra touches which make a difference - bathrobes, towels for the hot-tub, eggs, fresh milk and cakes. The cottage is well equipped for your needs and is toasty and warmRead more. The hot-tub was at a perfect temperature when we arrived and spotlessly clean. We'd definitely stay again. Hide

We had a wonderful week at the Old Calf Shed. The cottage is bright and well equipped, with wonderful views and nice walks from the house. The garden is secure for a dog. The hot tub was really clean with a great view. Parking was close to the entrance of the house with just a few steps to the front door, with a good handrail and spacious showers, Read moreso would be a good choice for someone with poor mobility. Beautiful cottage with stunning views. Safe, enclosed garden if you want to take your dogs. We left our gate open so the resident dogs could visit us when they pleased. Julie is the perfect host, welcoming and just a phone call away if you need anything. Fascinating tour around the farm on request. We will definitely be returning.
