This property enjoys a peaceful countryside location in rural North Norfolk, surrounded by picturesque countryside, perfect for those who enjoy leisurely country walks and cycle rides. The surrounding area has many beautiful country house estates which are open to the public and are great places for day trips, including those at Sandringham, Holkham, and Houghton Hall. The area is, of course, a firm favourite with those who are looking for a seaside holiday, and there are numerous beaches, pretty harbour towns, and coastal wildlife reserves within easy reach of the property, including those at Hunstanton, Kings Lynn, Snettisham and Brancaster (under 15 miles from the property).

Arriving at this property, guests will first come to a hallway which leads onto the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This charming room with its beamed ceiling has the feel of a rustic country hideaway, with its lounge area at one side of the room and the kitchen at the other. A comfortable sofa suite and a colourful rug create a cosy atmosphere in the lounge area where there is also a TV/DVD. The dining table seats four and is overlooked by the kitchen area with its good range of equipment including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and washing machine. Wooden stairs lead from this room up to the galleried double bedroom, an unusual and pretty room with a romantic feel situated in the eaves of the property. The second bedroom, a twin, can be found downstairs, just across the entrance hall from the bathroom which offers a shower-over-bath and WC.

To the rear of the property, patio doors open from the lounge area out onto a private patio for which there is a BBQ and garden furniture provided. A spacious shared games room is a fantastic addition to the property and has plenty to keep younger guests or competitive adults occupied. There is a snooker table, pool table, and table tennis, as well as a selection of toys and games for young children. There is plenty of off-road parking.

We had a fantastic time at The Old Forge. The cottage itself is lovely and cosy. The games room and library are a huge plus and we enjoyed it thoroughly. The cottage is well equipped and located in a great spot for easy access to all of North Norfolk. Special thanks to the amazing Mandie who helped us navigate a delay in our arrival thanks to unexpRead moreected health issues. I would definitely recommend the cottage and look forward to going back there. Hide

We stayed in The forge of these beautiful cottages. The area is so lovely and peaceful. The owners thought of everything that was needed for self catering. If you want to go for a meal, we recommend The Crown Inn. There is a store , not far from the cottage. We were welcomed to some lovely cakes, also some tea bags, coffee, sugar and even a pint ofRead more milk in the fridge. Which was very nice after travelling. There is a jet in the field, which was amazing to see close. Loved it all. Thanks Hide

Lovely cottage in a country setting. This cottage is ideally placed for easy access to all of the coast line from King's Lynn to Cromer. My Granddaughter and I had an exceptionally pleasant first visit to Norfolk and will definitely be back. Thankyou Anne, Evie and Kip
