Escape to this beautiful stone cottage set on a working smallholding in the popular village of Warkworth, surrounded by the beautiful Northumberland coastline. Walk 0.5 miles along the River Coquet into the heart of Warkworth village, and along the way, you’ll spot the magnificent Warkworth Castle – one of the most formidable castles in the north of England. While you are there, head to the stunning beach for a walk and picnic, or hop on a boat and cross the River Coquet to the secluded Warkworth Hermitage (0.5 miles), a beautiful 14th-century chantry carved out of the riverbank's sandstone. Alternatively, head to the coastal town of Amble (2 miles) to stroll around the bustling harbour and sample some fresh seafood in one of the many great restaurants. Further afield, make a beeline for Bamburgh (24 miles) – the royal capital of the ancient kingdom of Northumbria – to see the iconic castle that has stood guard for over 1,400 years. Afterwards, treat yourself to something sweet in the traditional village tea shop.

Make your way to your gorgeous three-storey stone cottage from your private parking spot (there’s also free parking available for one additional vehicle at the end of the access lane leading to the property). Step inside and you’ll find a charming and fully accessible country-style kitchen/diner that sets the tone for a stylish yet homely break. Fitted with eye-level fridge, storage cupboards, oven and microwave and a raising and lowering sink, cooking in this kitchen is an absolute breeze, even for those with mobility issues. From there, step into the first lounge where you’ll find an impressive wood burner beside a plush sofa, as well as a Smart TV if you’re in the mood for a relaxed night in. Off this room, you’ll discover a spacious bedroom with an electric-powered raising and lowering super king-size bed (2 single mattresses raise and lower separately) for extra comfort, ideal for sitting up with breakfast in bed. This bedroom’s en-suite features a wet-room-style shower, a separate bath and WC, as well as thoughtful additions, like a shower seat and two emergency pull cords for additional safety. A lovely wooden staircase leads you up to the first floor, and the stylish twin bedroom with a gorgeous window seat and plenty of soft cushions where you can curl up with a good book. The en-suite has a shower and WC. Follow a narrower staircase to the second floor for the light and airy second lounge – this is a lovely option for multigenerational groups who want to give the younger ones their own space or for any carers accompanying those with disabilities. This room boasts lovely views, exposed beams, plush furnishings, a Smart TV and books and games.

Outside, you’ll find a pretty enclosed patio with a dining table, loungers and a fun fire pit – the perfect place for an impromptu al fresco dinner. Parking for one car is in front of the cottage.

Very comfortable cottage. Situated in a lovely secluded location but not far from Warkworth and Amble. Great to be able to walk along the riverbank to Warkworth from the cottage.

We had a fabulous holiday at Judiths House. The location is really peaceful although the village is an only a short walk away. The cottage worked really well for a wheelchair user and we would love to return. The owners are really helpful too. Thank you!

Cottage in a pretty location and very well appointed. Owners very friendly and extremely helpful. Only negative for us was the heating in the downstairs had accidently been switched off meaning a cold first night.

A lovely dark sky cottage in a prime position for walking a dog into Warkworth (by the river) or driving into Alnwick and Alnmouth. The beach at Alnmouth is dog friendly and expansive and the Golf Club by the beach (also dog friendly) is open to the public. The only drawback with the cottage is the fact that the main bedroom is underneath a room inRead more the neighbouring let over which there is no control. When we were there it was common every night for there to be a disturbance in the small hours which caused wakefulness. Also, residents shold be aware that a certain amount of housekeeping will be expected so residents should be capable of stripping a bed and emptying bins. Hide

A lovely cottage, we really enjoyed the peaceful location and the beatiful walk along the river path to the village. The kitchen was well equiped and we did actually enjoy both living roons. The top one was sunnier and the ground floor one had a fantastic log burner.

Well placed for Warkworth centre but a little hard to find from instructions, fine after that. Could do with track potholes filling. Walkable but only if fit enough. Spotlessly clean. Nice and warm. A lot of thought has gone into this place. Great for someone who needs ground floor accommodation. Saw deer right near cottage. Would love to come agaiRead moren. Hide
