The cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow are both within 36 miles.

The historic 200-year-old farmhouse has been sympathetically upgraded but still retains many original features. Next is the first of the spacious super-king-size bedrooms with traditional shutters on the windows. Heading back to the hallway, you pass a large walk-in wet room with a shower area and WC. Moving through to the well-equipped kitchen, you’ll find a Stoves electric range cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and a large social dining area. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large utility area with a washing machine and small WC; the back door here gives access to the garden. Heading back to the hall and stairway to the first floor, you have a twin room to your left. Entering the large open upper hallway atrium gives access to two single bedrooms with adjoining doors to two of three large super-king-size bedrooms. Completing the property are two large family bathrooms with separate baths, WCs, and walk-in showers.

Venture outside to the mature spacious garden with seating areas, to enjoy your morning coffee or enjoy a nice glass of wine, and spot the red squirrels. Ample off-road parking is available directly next to the house.

The house is absolutely magnificent, in size as well as overall experience. Great location for exploring the region just above Glasgow and Edinburgh. The hosts have been very good and we really felt welcome and at home.

Amazing house, our stay was memorable. The house is even bigger than what it looks like from the pictures so really plenty of space for everyone. The surroundings are also great with the walk to the river and the very social shetland ponneys. Will come again for sure!

We had a wonderful week at Devonshaw House. The house is spacious, comfortable. The kitchen and dining area made cooking together easy, and the two lounges gave us plenty of space to relax. We booked Devonshaw House as a place to have a quiet reunion with our friends (3 families with young children). Our days there were among the most peaceful, joyful, blessedly simple and restorative I have ever known. The house is perfect and lovely throughout, the grounds are wonderfully remote. The hosts were present enough to provide anything we Read moreneeded (like a walking tour to see the ponies!), but also kept a respectful distance, allowing us to feel totally at ease and comfortable. This is a beautiful, spacious and comfortable home with an exceptionally well equipped kitchen. The owners were very welcoming and gave us an interesting and informative tour of the farm. Lovely house, well equipped and so spacious, very good for families and the smaller lounge is good as a play room as you can see into there from the kitchen through a hatch. Lovely bedding and towels and comfy beds. Great garden and lovely views. Dollar is very close and good for local shops and the pub is great too. Definitely worth returning
