When you’re not discovering the Forest of Dean, venture into the city of Gloucester (6 miles) for a cathedral visit and bite to eat, or venture further into the Cotswolds National Landscape (11 miles). If you’re into golf, the Rodway Hill Golf Club is just 3.5 miles away, while budding birdwatchers will become enamoured with the nature trails of RSPB Highnam Woods, just 2 miles away.
Step inside the large entrance hallway to find a cupboard full of handy items, including an ironing board and iron, as well as a place to store shoes and coats. To the right is a farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, with multiple appliances, including a washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Use these to whip up a romantic meal before sitting at the table for two. When you’ve finished eating, head up the steep stairs to the open-plan lounge/bedroom where you can unwind on the convertible sofa-bed and watch the Smart TV. There are glorious views here, too, overlooking the garden and farm. On the opposite side of the room, enjoy drifting off in the king-size bed, and when you awake, use the en-suite shower room to set you up for the day.
Watch the farm machinery in action as you sip a glass of wine in the enclosed garden. This is a real working farm, so a bit of noise, movement, and the occasional comings and goings are all part of the charm. And, if you fancy a little after-dinner wander, there are hundreds of acres to explore and perhaps visit the neighbouring chickens. There is private parking for two cars.
