We had a wonderful time at The Retreat. It was clean, well-equipped with books, games and kitchen essentials. We found it comfortable for four guests; the beds were particularly comfy. While remote, it was easy to get into nearby Okehampton by car, where there are plenty of shops and a cinema. Some wonderful hikes can be started there, or somewhereRead more a little further afield such as Meldon. We particularly enjoyed the welcome scones, kicking the ball around, reading and observing the sheep in the garden. Would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet stay with easy access to Dartmoor National Park! Hide

A really lovely cottage. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Great WiFi signal and clear welcome instructions left on the table. We didnt explore the area much as we came for a winter get away and spent most of the weekend by the open fire enjoying the rain outside the window! A really quiet location surrounded by fields and loveRead morely sheep. Access to logs for the fire was easy. Okehampton only a few moments down the road in the car with 4 supermarkets for convenience. Hide

Comfortable and clean accommodation. Very helpful hosts. Location is great within 1hr of a number of National Trust properties and 25 minutes to Dartmoor National Park. Also served well by Waitrose Supermarket in Okehampton.

By far the nicest cottage we have stayed in over the years. Spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. Lots to see and do locally and further afield - Lands End is 1hr 50 mins away so a fab day out. Hosts fab and lovely Devon cream tea waiting for us. Highly recommended if you like staying on a farm, which we do.

I can't recommend this place enough. Perfectly located a few miles NW of Okehampton, but with just the noise of cows, sheep and birds to disturb the silence. Lovely owner, lots of room to park and easy to find. Just perfect!

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. Everything you need is there. The bedrooms are very spacious and luxuriously furnished. The location is great for different types of excursions. For us it was a pity that you could not go for a walk directly from the cottage because the road next to the farm was not really suitable for walking.
