A walkers’ delight, this location is home to miles of scenic footpaths that meander through the rolling hills. The nearby popular village of Cromford, just 2 miles away, offers a fine selection of antique shops, cafes and pubs. Why not take a canal boat ride along Cromford Canal or visit Arkwright’s Mill, which is a World Heritage site? From Cromford, there is easy access to the High Peak Trail which is a favourite with walkers and is ideal for cycling. Matlock Bath is 3 miles and has a huge selection of cafes, shops and pubs to enjoy and is also the starting point for the cable car that takes you to the Heights of Abraham. The old mill town of Matlock has a superb range of craft shops, independent stores and bars, whilst Chatsworth Estate is just 10 miles away.

Step into the barn, take off your coat and boots and make yourself at home in the cosy lounge. Relax on the comfy seating, light the wood burner and chill out with your loved ones whilst admiring the beautiful rural views from the window. Cooking a meal in the kitchen is a delight with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Sit down with good company at the nearby dining table and plan the day's activities ahead. When you head upstairs you will find two bedrooms, a super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made into a twin upon request), with a handy en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. You will also find a king-size bedroom with beautiful rural views and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over bath and WC.

Outside, there is an enclosed patio with a hot tub perfectly placed to sink into and admire the rolling countryside views. There is outdoor dining furniture for a spot of al fresco dining during the warmer months. You will also find a patio to the front of the barn which catches the morning sun. Enjoy the open space of the grassy paddock which surrounds the barn. There is off-road parking for two cars.

Cant wait to return! This cottage is lovely, so cosy, well equipped, clean and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything and are excellent hosts who really do their best to make sure you have the best time. The location is perfect if you like to be a bit out of the way but is also near enough to facilities by car if you need them. Beautifully presented converted barn in an idyllic location. We were able to arrive & not need to use cars throughout our stay as there are plenty of walks from the cottage. The owners & their animals were all very friendly. Owners responded quickly & nothing was too much trouble.

A great little cottage off the beaten track, but not too far. Well equipped, warm and cosy, added bonus a hot tub. Lots of animals around so some interesting company if your dining outdoors. Owners very friendly, with good local knowledge, lots of ideas of things to do.

Lovely barn with everything you could want - comfortable beds, good showers, well equipped kitchen, woodburner and fuel, and a really good, clean hot tub. We loved having the sheep and chickens about and my son liked collecting the eggs which were very kindly supplied. We liked the interaction between us and the owners. Tracey and Paul were extremely helpful. The facilities including the hot tub were first class, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Local walking can be energetic, but The Barley Mow and The Fountain (really good coffee) are worth the effort. Highly recommended.

An absolutely fantastic holiday. Tracey and Paul were so helpful and friendly. My boys thoroughly enjoyed feeding the pigs and sheep and meeting the ducks and chickens with them and myself and my husband really appreciated all their suggestions, fresh eggs and homemade elderflower cordial. Lovely cottage/barn. In beautiful surroundings, highly recommend it. Very clean, well equipped to meet all our needs. Warm and comfortable. The owner were very attentive and friendly. We had a tesco delivery arranged, but we were held up in heavy traffic , so the owners met the delivery driver and put our shopping away for us.
