Experience stylish country living at this beautiful retreat set in the grounds of a working farm, just 1 mile from the lively market town of Tenterden. Sleeping six people across three bedrooms, it’s an excellent choice for families or groups of friends in search of an authentic country hideaway to call home while they explore the Kent countryside together. Climb aboard the Kent & East Sussex Railway (2.5 miles) and take a trip to Bodiam, where you’ll find the picturesque Bodiam Castle. Head to the small hamlet of Smallhythe (5 miles) to explore the National Trust’s Smallhythe Place, which was once home to Victorian actress Ellen Terry. Alternatively, take a tour to Biddenden Vineyards, Kent’s oldest commercial vineyard, and sample its award-winning wines and ciders. Or head into the medieval town of Rye (11 miles) to take in the views from the tower of St Mary’s Church.
Step inside and store your outdoor gear in the hallway. From here, head through to the farmhouse kitchen, where you can whip up some dinner to share in the elegant dining area.
Take a couple of steps down to the lounge/dining area, where exposed bricks and a wood burner create the quintessential country retreat, or head upstairs to watch a movie in the cosy snug. There are three stylish bedrooms – a double with an en-suite shower room on the ground floor, as well as one king-size and one twin on the first floor. A bathroom with a shower over the bath on the ground floor and a bathroom with a free-standing bath on the first floor completes the layout.
Outside you’ll find a patio garden. Fire up the charcoal BBQ and enjoy an al fresco feast. There’s private parking for up to four cars.
