Property code: OC-79065

Enjoy the views across stunning open countryside with tranquil river and country walks from the front door. The farm is set on 20 acres of beautiful meadows and woodland just above ‘Devil’s Water,’ a tributary of the River Tyne and you can brush up your gardening and cookery skills by taking one of the onsite courses. The local shops, pubs and restaurants are based in the market town of Hexham but there is plenty more to see and do there, including the Abbey, Hexham Old Gaol, Hexham Racecourse and scenic golf courses. Corbridge is also nearby with a lovely range of independent shops and places to eat. Spend a day visiting Hadrian’s Wall, the local Roman Fort and Museum and much more.

You can access the barn via two doors, one at each end of the property. Downstairs, the barn is separated into two sides so you can all socialise together upstairs and enjoy some privacy at bedtime. All five bedrooms are located on the ground floor with beautiful polished concrete floors, underfloor heating and each side has its own staircase. On one side, there are 2 king-size bedrooms; one with an en-suite shower room and WC and the other with an en-suite bathroom with a small bath and walk-in shower and WC. On the other side, there is a twin room with zip-and-link beds (which can be made up as a super-king-size upon request) and two more king-size bedrooms; one with an en-suite shower room and WC and the other with an en-suite bathroom with a small bath and walk-in shower and WC. Heading upstairs you are welcomed by light flooding in through the many windows, exposed beams; stone wall features, wood burners and the large windows to the front are partly bi-fold giving you fabulous outside-in views over the meadows and beyond. There are two lounge areas with comfortable sofas in each so, families can enjoy grown-up time at one end while the younger ones can sit together and watch a film on Smart TV. With two kitchens to work in, you can cook up a storm for everyone at the same time each with an electric oven and induction hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer, and there is a large dining table where you can easily seat eight and a smaller round table for four. You can also arrange a local chef to cook for a special occasion.

Outside, there is a BBQ and a large dining table and seating in the gin-gang area plus another patio area with a garden table and chairs so there is ample opportunity for al-fresco dining while you admire the gardens and views. Friendly ducks and hens wander about from the farm during the day. Parking is off-road for five cars.

We rented the barn to celebrate my 60th birthday with family. What a fantastic and memorable location! The view was stunning and the walks around the area full of wildlife. There is ample outside area for sitting and dining, great when the sun is shining! The barn is warm, comfortable and all rooms are large enough and ensuite. Both kitchen and livRead moreing areas were comfortable and well equipped, plenty of room in fridges and cupboards if bringing your food along for the week. Simon and Karen offered local knowledge and recommendations, and were always on hand to sort any minor problems without being intrusive. The sights and sounds of nature are all around; if you want countryside, comfort, sightseeing and a well equipped base for exploring, I can't recommend the barn enough. Hide

We had a wonderful stay at Simons place. Its very spacious and can easily accommodate 10 people with plenty of bathrooms and living areas. The surroundings are beautiful as well. We really appreciated Simons help and communication before and after our trip, and the added touches (coffee, breakfast bits, snacks, wine) were a lovely added touch.

What a truly gorgeous place to stay. It surpassed my expectations. We stayed in the whole barn as part of a family weekend. The facilities were fabulous - no need to leave if you have older relatives. The views are spectacular so you can easily find a spot to read or chat. The bedrooms and en-suites are very luxurious. We visited Corbridge, which iRead mores a beautiful place and some other family members went for a walk near by. Everyone was happy - this is not an easy task! Wed love to return! Hide

We loved the accommodation - it was very comfortable and cosy despite being a large conversion. Loads of space for our two families. We particularly liked the two open plan lounges/kitchen areas which suited our needs - three teenage girls who enjoyed their own space. Beautiful views as well.

Our party of 7 , mostly elderly, loved the Barn Bedrooms were very comfortable. The Granary had ample space upstairs for all. The setting is deeply rural, yet Hexham and Corbridge are minutes away. The upstairs is bright, and tastefully modernised. Excellent cooking facilities, Stairs are steep and the Duck Hoyse stair awkward but we coped. The ownRead moreers were friendly but not intrusive. We appreciated the welcoming vase of garden flowers. In summary a delightful experience. Hide
