This rural cottage is located off a steep hill on a working farm close to the North Yorkshire Moors, with some of the regions most impressive scenery right on the doorstep. The village of Osmotherley is a pretty village, boasting three pubs, all of which are within walking distance of the cottage. The village is also the starting point for the picturesque Lyke Wake Walk, a 40 mile walk across the moors to the coastal village of Ravenscar, making it a great choice for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits. The Cleveland Way National Trail also runs through the village while Wainwright's famous coast to coast walk passes close by. For those looking for more restful activities, the area is home to a range of interesting sights and attractions including the town of Helmsley, Rievaulx Abbey, Mount Grace Priory, Lightwater Valley Theme Park, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway

The front door of this charming characterful property opens directly into the kitchen/diner well-equipped for all the budding chefs with electric oven and hob, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and TV, a great place to enjoy good food and conversation. Head up the steps from the kitchen area into the large inner hallway with a wonderful lounge off to the right with three steps down,  relax on the sofa, cosy up close to the warming wood burner and watch a programme of your choice together in front of the Smart TV. The patio doors lead out onto the paved outside space. Also off the hallway you will find a shower room with shower and WC and a bathroom with bath and WC. Venture up the oak staircase where you will find a pretty double bedroom and a large super- king-or twin size bedroom ( please advise of bed make up on booking).

Heading outside to the front of the property is a open large stone patio with charcoal BBQ/fire pit and table and chairs to enjoy the beautiful landscape and al fresco dining. Additional enclosed grassed garden area available which is dog proof. There is ample off-road parking for four cars and secure bicycle store

We are absolutely over the moon to have found this cottage, it really is the gold standard of holiday cottages. Comfortable, pristinely clean, lots of space, lots of equipment, friendly and helpful owner. We were treated to a couple of boxes of delicious fresh eggs, dog biccies and human biccies on arrival with a lovely jug of fresh flowers too. ThRead moreere are fabulous walks straight from the cottage onto the Cleveland way, but it is also perfectly located to get to lots and lots of wonderful destinations easily. Although we know the area, it was a delight to still discover new walks and places to visit. We really cannot recommend this cottage highly enough, it is perfect. Hide

Clover Cottage was absolutely beautiful and I really wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was so perfectly presented with fabulous touches like fresh flowers, water bowls for the dog and a dog bed in the living room. Lovely footpath just across the road, perfect for quick morning dog walks and then the Cod Beck reservoir just up the road. ORead morenly warning would be the head hight in the bedroom, if your super tall then you may struggle but it all added to the wonderful charm of the cottage. Hide

Thank you so much for providing such a beautiful space. A perfect switch off from the concrete city. We had a mix of snow, sunshine and rain for our stay and lovely sky's to sit and look at from the lounge window. Lovely local walks, supermarkets only 15.mins away. The second time we have stayed at Clover Cottage and it was excellent again. Biscuits, eggs, tea, coffee and sugar were left out for us and the cottage was lovely and warm for our arrival on a cold November day. Communication with the owner beforehand was easy - much appreciated. We had a lovely few days at Clover Cottage with our 2 dogs. It was really warm and cosy, everything we could have wished for was catered for. The tiled kitchen floor was perfect for wet paws! The little treats were much appreciated, particularly the pretty eggs. Lots of hot water, fluffy towels, comfortable beds, a 10/15min walk to the village alonRead moreg a public footpathperfect. Wonderful second stay for us and dogs. Great opportunity for good walking from the doorstep. Good base for exploring North Yorkshire. Comfortable home from home with a secure paddock for dogs.

Wow, the quality of this cottage is outstanding! Denby and le creuset, great kitchen appliances and super touches for pups such as a very snuggly crate and secure garden area. Two lovely bathrooms and although on ground floor its just a few steps and they are separate from kitchen so no need to disturb dogs. A gem of a place.

Whilst there were only 2 of us staying, the cottage was more than big enough and equipped enough to cater for 4 people. We are hoping to return another time with 2 friends as the walking in the area is really great. Whilst the cottage is on a farm we were not disturbed by any farming animals or farm business.

Very quiet location just a mile or so away from the centre of Osmotherley. Comfortable outside seating which we took advantage of. Very spacious cottage.

Wonderful stay clean, cosy and spacious. The walks from the cottage are amazing and we even managed a walk to the local pub. Great set up for a toddler too as my little girl and the dog were so happy playing safely in the fenced area together whilst I could sit on the bench provided and not worry about either of them. We stayed at clover cottage for a second time last week. Its ideal for us...Parents, 6 yo girl, 3 yo boy and 7 yo labrador. Lots of space to chill out in a great location. Great views. Lots of nearby walks for runs and little legs. 10 minute walk to osmotherly. We hosted lunch one day and had everything we needed to do that for 6 guests. Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous setting. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need and is very spacious. There are 3 pubs in the village, we only tried The Golden Lion and the food and service were excellent. Cod Beck is only a 5 minute drive and its perfect for a walk with or without dogs. Lovely spotlessly clean cottage, fully equipped with everything you might possibly need. Very comfortable furniture a lovely, outdoor space and secure grassed garden for our dog!
