A generous holiday hideaway, set mostly on the first floor of a characterful old farmhouse, this Whitwell property makes a great base for discovering the beauty of the Isle of Wight. Sleeping eight guests, the three-bedroom retreat, which can also be booked with two other apartments, is ideal for a large group of friends or even two families together. Nestled in magical, rural surroundings, with superb footpaths and cycle routes, it is just 6 miles from colourful Ventnor, with its shops, restaurants and pubs. Head to the beach in Ventnor as well, or choose to spend time at the more secluded nearby Castle Haven beach or Shepherd’s Chine, 8 miles away. The children in your party will also adore visits to the Dinosaur Expedition Centre, 9 miles away, and Amazon World Zoo, 6 miles away. There is also fun to be had at Blackgang Chine, 4.5 miles away.

Enter your holiday home via the porch, where you can pull off your wellies and slide off your flip-flops. Head on through to the hall, where there is access to a downstairs WC and a cupboard for your coats, bags and other holiday accessories. Climb the stairs to the first floor of the farmhouse, where your main living and sleeping accommodation can be found. Head along the landing to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Here, you can gather to chat about your adventures and absorb the verdant views out across the fields. The kitchen has been equipped with everything the chef in your group is likely to require. Serve dinner at the table, then amble over to the plump leather seating to while away your evenings in comfort. Take turns at choosing something to watch on TV or play a lively game together. When you are ready to turn in for the night, follow the corridor back towards the bedrooms. Here you have two lovely king-sizes and a bunk bedroom, where the children can spread themselves across two sets of bunks. The family bathroom is also on this floor.

Let the children play out in the sunshine on the lawn in your private garden as you sizzle supper on the BBQ. Dine outside before taking them off to discover the many other shared activities available on the farm. Guests at this property have private, off-road parking.
