Property code: OC-WAF147

This lovely, detached property sleeping six guests is perfect for families or a group of friends seeking a quiet rural retreat. A ground-floor shower room and snug, which can be used as a bedroom, make it ideal for a less mobile guest. Secluded but not isolated, it is 4 miles from the historic market town of Denbigh, with its shops and restaurants. There are many fine medieval buildings to explore, including Denbigh Castle, and the colourful town square is a great place for a stroll. Beautiful Llyn Brenig (6 miles) offers watersports, fishing and family cycling around the shores. A cafe overlooks the lake, while there is an excellent play area for children. Ruthin (11 miles) is also well worth a visit for its excellent craft centre and the Ruthin Art Trail.

This beautifully converted and spacious house has a wealth of original beams throughout and several exposed stone or brick walls. The entrance porch is useful for storing muddy boots, and there is a second side entrance leading to a shower room and utility room. An impressive stone inglenook fireplace, beams and an exposed original wall enhance a strong sense of the past in the lovely sitting room. Fully carpeted and overlaid with a beautiful rug, this light-filled space is tastefully furnished with two comfortable sofas and an easy chair on which you can relax and watch TV after lighting the wood burner inside the inglenook. A door from the sitting room leads to a snug with an exposed original brick wall and beamed ceiling. This cosy room has a sofa bed, comfortable chair and a small TV, ideal for use as a playroom or for a guest who prefers to sleep downstairs. The spacious kitchen has a large dining table and chairs, ideal for family gatherings. A beautifully crafted wooden staircase leads from the sitting room to a spacious landing, with more original beams to be seen, here and in the three pretty bedrooms. These all have lovely views across the countryside. The large double bedroom has two windows and ample room for a cot, while there is also a twin bedroom and a third room with full-size bunk beds. A family bathroom, also with beams, has a bath and WC.

Outside, a large garden with a lawn has a paved area and picnic bench, from where you can enjoy views over rolling green hills.

A beautiful home and location, full of all the facilities you would need on holiday and more, close to town, albeit down very narrow single track roads, with many shops, supermarkets and places of interest to visit. A warm and welcoming home to rent and once in for the night and the gate is shut, a safe area for you and the family dog to enjoy the Read moreevenings with a cup of tea or glass of something outside. Only problem staying this time of the year is the cluster flies that seem to be hibernating in the roof space, and have a habit of flying for a short time then dropping to the floor, requiring to be hoovered up constantly. Owners are aware and are dealing with them. Hide

Lovely old farm house, very comfortable with original features and open fire. Hendy is set in a beautiful valley, and nearby Denbigh had all the amenities we needed for a great stay. The price is right for the standard of accommodation. The kitchen has all the utensils we need to self-cater. The owners, who live in the adjacent property, were veRead morery friendly and helpful. Great base for visiting North Wales and Cheshire. Hide

What a beautiful cottage, the kitchen has every gadget or utensil you could want. The complimentary Welsh cake, milk & flowers was welcoming as was the hostess. Its found down narrow country lanes, not near any other properties except the farm directly in front of it.
