A small hamlet in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, Shelland is home to one of the UK’s few surviving churches dedicated to King Charles I. The houses here are surrounded by beautiful countryside criss-crossed by public footpaths connecting to close-by villages, while the nearest town is Stowmarket, 4 miles away. Here, you’ll find a traditional twice-weekly market and The Museum of East Anglian Life, along with a mix of big-name and independent retailers. One of the county’s premier food and drink destinations, Bury St Edmunds is 12 miles away - visit its brewery, enjoy a stroll in the Abbey Gardens and explore Georgian squares where every building has a story to tell. Just over 16 miles in the opposite direction, Ipswich is steeped in maritime history and has a very modern waterfront where luxury yachts and leisure boats berth before a quay lined with bars and restaurants.
