Part of a complex of three properties situated on the owner’s farm, this 200-year-old barn has been converted to provide families and small groups of friends with a comfortable, amenity-rich base from which they can set out to explore the Yorkshire Wolds. There are numerous places to eat and drink in the village of Holme-on-Spalding-Moor (1 mile) and plenty of walking and cycling routes nearby, including the Bubwith Rail Trail (within 400 metres). As well as the iconic minster and National Railway Museum, the ancient streets of York (19 miles) are home to a plethora of pubs and eateries.

Use the hot and cold taps at the front of the barn to wash off muddy boots and paws and then enter this glorious conversion. The barn’s spacious living area ensures guests can spend as much time together as possible, with plenty of natural light pouring in through large double doors and roof windows. The comfortable seating in the living room is arranged around a TV and a wood burner set into an exposed brick chimney breast, which reaches up to A-frame ceiling beams. The stylish kitchen/diner adjacent to this has more than enough space for cooks to mingle with others while dinner is cooking. Off to the side of the living area, a handy wet room will reduce waiting times while a double bedroom nearby is perfect for less mobile guests. The first floor is accessed via an impressive bespoke staircase, the galleried landing containing a bookshelf and a comfortable chair. The king-size bedroom and a double bedroom on this level are tastefully decorated, with a family bathroom a little further along.

The shared courtyard garden is an attractive space where seating is arranged under a brick and wood pergola surrounded by gravel. Off to the side, a shared games room comes with a pool table, fridge, comfortable seating and a TV, perfect for watching the big match with chilled refreshments in hand.
