This lovely, detached property is located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, a playground for nature lovers with its miles of pretty trails, forest and moorland. Half a mile away, the rural village of Bethlehem sits in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons; half a mile further on, slightly larger Llangadog, a small village where you’ll find a few shops and a pub where you can enjoy a leisurely pint. At Llandeilo (3.5 miles) you’ll find a wider selection of eateries as well as independent shops to discover. The National Trust site at Dinefwr (7.5 miles), featuring an impressive 17th-century mansion, is well worth the trip along with the magnificent gardens of Aberglasney and the National Botanical Gardens of Wales. Visitors can enjoy adrenaline-fuelled fun in the Brecon Beacons; for a really family-friendly day out, head to the National Showcaves Centre for Wales (20 miles) where you can venture underground, explore one of the world’s largest dinosaur parks and pan for gold. The Garn-Goch monument is close by and worth a visit. Walking enthusiasts will enjoy a jaunt up the impressive Llyn Y Fan Fach, or alternatively stroll around the perimeter of the Usk Reservoir nearby.

This house is tastefully decorated, with antique-style furniture and a cheerful colour scheme. The ground floor has an open-plan living/dining area with plenty of seating, including leather sofas, plus a Smart TV. There’s space at the dining table for six, plus a cosy wood burner for cold nights. The separate snug is an excellent place for socialising, and has a sofa, a decorative fireplace and games. The kitchen is very well-equipped and there’s a handy WC on this floor, too. Head up the stairs and you’ll find two super-king-size bedrooms, one of which has its own en-suite bathroom. There’s also a twin bedroom and a large family bathroom.

The enclosed garden has a gravel surface. There’s a picnic table for enjoying meals together in the fresh air, a rattan sofa set and a swinging egg chair for relaxation plus a private hot tub offering lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Private parking for up to 4 cars.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage. Well equipped nice and clean and a lovely welcome package. It is fairly remote which is exactly what we wanted but still not that far to drive to nearest small village. If you want bigger shops there are fairly large CoOps 10-15 minutes away, nearest largest supermarket is around 25 minutes. Brilliant base for Read morewalking in the beautiful welsh countryside and we found there were a fair few other things for the kids to do within 30-40 minutes drive. We loved sitting out in the hot tub under the stars in the evening. Hide

And even though its on a working farm it was still quiet and peaceful. The hosts were very welcoming. Only down side was it was abit far out for us and nearest coop was 30 mins away. the little shop in theRead more local village was never open. Other than that we loved staying here. Hide

This farmhouse is quite a find for its beautiful and quiet location. Perfect base for visiting Gwenffrwd Dinas and Aberglasney gardens. Great amount of space and beautiful gift basket. The hot tub was just lovely to relax in at the end of the day.

Llwyncelyn is a lovely property situated in very rural surroundings but within a short and easy drive to Llandeilo. Its immediate environment was extremely peaceful which was exactly what we wanted. For trips out, we went to Llyn Y Fan Fach, Castell Carreg Cennen and Gerddi Aberglasne which were all quite nearby. We were extremely fortunate with thRead moree weather and that certainly contributed to the great week we had. Hide

Very quite rural location so suggest bringing shopping with you as basic shops a drive away and they close for lunch. House has everything you need and we were given a generous goodies basket. Confortable beds lovely and big. Just be aware for dog owners low walls so not fully enclosed. We enjoyed our stay there.
