Modern and traditional or period features are effortlessly mixed in this charming former farmhouse sleeping six in rural peace and quiet just outside a small Welsh village. The tranquillity extends indoors with cool, calming decor and furnishings giving a very realxed feel – just perfect for a relaxing holiday for couples, families or groups. It’s 3 miles to the vibrant market town of Machynlleth, home of the annual comedy festival, MoMA Museum of Modern Art, weekly Wednesday market and independent shops. The Owain Glyndwr Centre will educate you about the history of this area. Slightly further afield, the Snowdonia National Park starts 4 miles away in one direction, while the Falconry Experience Wales is 3 miles in the other.

There’s a lounge and a sitting room here, the former is a welcoming space with comfortable sofas, large inglenook with impressive, exposed lintel beam now housing the Smart TV and sleek modern light-wood furniture. The walls and ceiling complete with rafters are painted in very pale tones, making this a light and airy space to spend time and really relax. Double doors lead through to the impressive kitchen and can be left unclosed for an open-plan feeling. The sitting room has sofas, a feature brick fireplace but also a selection of games and table football for those seeking a bit more activity. The stylish kitchen has plenty of room for a rustic-style table with four chairs and one bench so you can keep the chef company while they cook as well as eat here! Pale wood-finish floor, bright painted ceiling and rafters plus skylights means this space is literally flooded with light. The staircase goes off from one end of this room to the sleeping accommodation where you’ll find two king-size bedrooms plus a twin room. One king-size has an en-suite shower room while the other rooms share the bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower and WC.

Take your pick from not one but two secure gardens at this former farmhouse. There’s an area to the front set to gravel, then grass, complete with picnic table for breakfasts or sundowners alfresco. From a side door, via a path, there’s another secure back garden. Whichever you choose, there are commanding views of the countryside all around and with Snowdonia National Park on your doorstep and the coast around 12 miles away, there’s no shortage of opportunities to get out in the fresh air and greenery of Wales.

The cottage was very spacious and well equipped. It's location is peaceful and it is set in beautiful countryside. Although we didn't meet the owners, on the couple of occasions we contacted them they were very helpful.

Pwllglas is such a lovely property. Clear instructions to get there, nice welcome pack on arrival, comfortable/spacious living spaces and had everything we needed for a weekend stay with adults and children. The views are stunning and close enough to Machynlleth to pop into town if needed. We had a lovely Sunday Lunch at Brigands Inn which is a shoRead morert drive from the cottage, and enjoyed a trip to the seaside at Aberdovey. Hide

We had a great week in this extremely well equipped cottage. Plenty of space for our family of two adults and two teens. Very comfortable beds and cosy sitting room. Excellent utility area for coats and shoes/muddy boots, with washing machine and tumble dryer. The cottage had everything we needed and is in fact, the most well equipped we've stayed Read morein (bedding, towels, hand soap, kitchen towels, loo paper, washing up equipment, dishwasher tabs, laundry tabs, pegs, tin foil). A real home from home and the welcome pack was a lovely touch too. Would highly recommend. Hide

Lovely house in a great location, surrounded by sheep, right on the edge of the Mach loop. The town of Machynlleth is worth a visit on market day. Aberdyfi beach is beautiful with a really nice town.
