Experience utter tranquillity when staying in this undisturbed Welsh farmhouse, a remarkable 400-year-old cottage with nothing but rolling hills and grazing livestock for company. The most enjoyable place if you love the outdoors. Despite its remote location, this lovely cottage is situated just 6 miles from the vibrant harbour town of Porthmadog. From here you can browse independent craft shops, take a trip on a steam train or simply admire the view across the Dwyryd Estuary. For trips to the beach, you’ll want to head to Black Rock Sands for swimming and rock pooling (8 miles) or Harlech Beach for golden sands and surfing (15.5 miles). Venture into Snowdonia National Park for an endless array of walking or cycling routes, including a pretty pathway around Trawsfynydd Lake (15 miles).

Before entering this property, take a moment to stand at the doorstep and take in the remarkable panoramic view that sits before you. The ground floor of this traditional stone cottage presents you with two opportunities to admire this view. The sunroom is equipped with comfy seating, picture windows and doors out to the patio, while the kitchen/diner also boasts generous windows from which you can admire the mountains. Country style kitchen with Dining table and chairs. Continue through into the snug, a cosy spot to curl up with a good book, before settling down in the classically decorated living room with a marvellous inglenook fireplace and TV. A wood burner promises to keep you snug during the colder months. Completing this floor is a spacious utility room and a shower room. Head upstairs to find three beautiful bedrooms - a king-size, a double and a super King size bed or two single beds(please notify at time of booking), each one with far-reaching views. A shared bathroom completes the layout of this delightful rural retreat.

French doors in the sunroom lead out onto the private patio, a space with a sturdy picnic bench for dining alfresco. This patio is surrounded by a lawn, and beyond the stone boundary wall is open farmland.

Amazing! Cwm Mawr sits in an amazing position above Porthmadog with stunning rural and coastal views. Ideally located to explore so much of what Eryri has to offer. The farmhouse is secluded and sits at the end of a farm track which was fairly easy to find after pinpointing on google maps! (///wins.lends.entitles). The farmhouse offers comfortable Read moretraditional accommodation which is clean and provides all the amenities you need. We had a relaxing and uninterrupted week enjoying the house and exploring local towns and castles! We will definately be back and thank you Non for allowing us to stay in your lovely home. Hide

We are very pleased to be able to add our praise to the many positive reviews about Cwm Mawr. We had a fabulous week in this warm, comfortable and homely farmhouse. Thank you for the welcome pack and for providing such a lovely place to stay. Everything was in place to meet our needs in terms of cooking, keeping warm and having a good night's sleepRead more! The location was perfect for exploring the mountains and gorgeous beaches nearby, though it was almost as good just staying at the farm. We would definitely recommend staying there. Hide

Warm (heating very efficient) and comfortable (especially beds!) despite the autumn winds and rain. Incredible views and a perfect spot for cloud watching. Lighting in the kitchen could do with some attention (but dim) and reading lights would be useful in lounge. Lovely welcome basket .Thank you. Will come again !
