This fabulous conversion has lovely touches including underfloor heating, a wood burner, striking art on the walls and countryside views. Two bedrooms make this property ideal for two couples or a family wishing to explore the North York Moors National Park. The stone barn is set about a mile from the village of Glaisdale, with its friendly village centre boasting a butcher’s, village store and traditional local pub serving locally sourced homemade food. You are spoilt for choice in this area of Yorkshire. Whatever your interests there is something for everyone, including historic castles, even older abbeys, museums, farms, walking, cycling and superb local markets with the very best Yorkshire produce. The historic seaside town of Whitby is 20 miles away.

Steps lead down to the property’s door and as you enter, a vaulted ceiling in the open plan living/kitchen/dining area gives you a feeling of space and the exposed stone walls are a gentle reminder of the property’s origins. Find granite worktops and all you need to cook a sumptuous meal in the kitchen and a dining area for six next to the wood burner. There are also sofas to relax on here and enjoy watching the large TV. The main bedroom is also on the ground floor and has a zip-and-link bed giving you the choice of a twin or super-king bed, and the Jack and Jill bathroom has a walk-in shower and can be accessed either as an en-suite bathroom or from the hallway. A beautiful wooden staircase leads from the living room to the galleried mezzanine where you will find further comfortable seating, both of which fold out to a single and double bed settee, an ideal place from which to watch TV or play video games. A separate bedroom on this level has triple aspect windows allowing views of the surrounding countryside and a king-size bed; the bathroom is down two steps and features a shower over the bath.
