The Talyllyn Railway, originally built to carry slate and now carrying people, has been steaming from Tywyn into stunning Southern Snowdonia since 1865, taking in some incredible scenery along the way. Further afield, the ruined castle of Castell y Bere sits in a gorgeous hidden valley and is well worth a day trip.
