This traditional country house with vast, picturesque views across the Severn Valley and luxurious features like the hot tub is located on a working family farm, making it ideal for groups or families to experience a slice of tranquillity on a peaceful, rural getaway. Nature lovers will enjoy walking around the farmland and surrounding countryside along with a visit to Lake Vyrnwy (20 miles). Here, simply take in the breathtaking views or have a go at watersports like sailing or kayaking. Get a dose of history at medieval Powis Castle (4 miles), which has impressive National Trust gardens to discover, and indulge in group dinners in the delightful market town of Welshpool (4 miles), where there are restaurants and pubs to while away evenings.

As soon as you walk into the entrance hall of this historic home, you’ll be impressed by the Grade II Listed, 16th-century, feature wooden staircase. Pass through the hall to the ground floor’s open-plan living room that boasts high ceilings and two large, criss-cross-style windows so you can look out to lovely valley views as you relax. Prepare group dinners in the country-chic kitchen, with wooden floorboards and a stools-included island with stylish pendant lights hanging above. Tuck in together with rural views at the eight-seater oak dining table, then retire to the neighbouring lounge area where leather sofas and cushioned bucket chairs face the wood burner. There’s a 40-inch Smart TV and DVD player for entertainment throughout your stay. Head up the staircase - stopping at the top to admire the feature window and rustic wall pictures - to get cosy in any of the three en-suite king sized bedrooms that are all bright and pleasant with rustic, homely accessories and more of those wonderful views. There are three bedrooms; the first boasts a TV, small seating area and shower room with rainfall shower; the second has an ornamental original wrought iron fireplace, TV and en-suite with rainfall shower; and the third has an ornamental original wrought iron fireplace, TV and en-suite featuring a rainfall shower over a bath.

There’s even more luxury to indulge in outside of the house. Pass through the front door to the large garden area, where the highlight is the private, six-seater hot tub on a raised patio. Pamper with those panoramic rural views from the best seat in the house. Bathrobes and slippers are provided, adding to the luxury. You’ll also find sun loungers by the hot tub for warm days, and - via steps down to a lower section of the lawned garden - a dining area that overlooks the Severn Valley. Take a seat here and indulge in al fresco meals in a tranquil setting, leaving you with blissful holiday memories. Children are able to enjoy a selection of outdoor games.

Trefnant Hall is perfect for a comfortable, relaxing stay. It's well heated, with an additional wood burning stove, which makes the whole place very cosy. Well equipped kitchen, comfy sofas and bedrooms and FABULOUS views. I would definitely recommend the place to others.

Fantastic views from a stunning historic listed building. The staircase is a wonder. It's a great bit of the world with lots to see and do. Powis Castle is a stone's throw and walks aplenty from the property. A great all-year-round place to stay.
